Where you live..? Here's York..

Now then..

What's it like where you lads live, the people, surroundings, attitudes and just the general quality of life you have? I'm in York, beautiful historical City centre but that's where it ends. I have never been around a more ignorant, thick bunch in my life and believe me I have lived in a few places. It's all surface stuff here, plastic and then hide away and pretend nowts happening if you get my drift. Then we come to football, for some reason where I live, every fcuker supports Liverpool or Man U....What. There is zero identity here to the City, a population that just seems to go through the motions without any consideration for what's around them..

Sad, but then again their big recognition is making choclate..

Thank god I'm home in a couple of weeks for the match..

I've got friends in york. Problem is the Uni is massive compared to the size of the city. Add that to the tourists then most of the people in that city at one time aren't from York or long serving resident of York. Daytime rude tourists, night time disrespectful students. Gorgeous city though and I thoroughly enjoy my visits.

I was born in a village called Cockfield just outside West Auckland but moved to Darlington as a young child. It's a nice looking victorian town but the people are appalling. Without turning this into a political debate, I think it's a reflection on today's society. Small town mentality is scary these days. Love my little bungalow though, and we have some fantastic little nature reserves scattered about the town and as a keen gardener it's nice that the town is always in full bloom. Even with budget cuts the council have given out grassland and verges to the public to add flowers. We even have veggie planters in the town center which you can harvest and eat once they're fully grown. Problem is with these animals, the veg won't be there long enough to harvest. Nice thought though.

Used to live in Haxby and went to school in New Earswick Joe, dnno if you know them at all.

York has this reputation as a beautiful place which it doesn't disappoint with but people from Yorkshire are amongst the most ****y I have ever come across.

No offence to any Yorkshire men on here. You may be sound but I've lived in North and West Yorkshire for about ten years collectively so I'm either mega unlucky in who I met or your kin are annoying ****ers.

I know Darlington well Bri, set the 1st one hour mini-photo lab there in 1986 on Post House-Wynd and then went to work for Bolloms the Dry-Cleaners on the south coast and set one-hour photo labs up in Burgess Hill, Bournemouth and Southampton. I think Yorks problems are the suburbs as to be honest they are pretty ****e but the people are bottom of the ****-tip. You wouldn't want one of these useless fcukers next to you on the front line of a war..

I know matey! Wouldn't have slated Yorkshire men if I thought you were one. You're sound. There's some nice parts to New Earswick and some not so nice parts. Like anywhere really. 'Jo Ro' the school isn't the best but it didn't do me too much harm. Really easy to access town which is a big upside.

I'm not going to lie, I tended to avoid Acomb when I could.

I lived in a place called Sherburn in Elmet just outside selby so vistted places like Hull, Donny and Taddy and many of the villages in between. Horrid people (the young adults that is) But my heart lies in yorkshire as it's some of the most beautiful countryside in the world.

Born and Bred in Ryhope on the outskirts of Sunderland, which used to be a very close knit community built around the pit...Sadly, a lot of that has been lost now, but I still pop down there for a pint now and again to keep in touch with old friends..
I now live in Hall Farm, which is a decent enough housing estate not far from Doxford International. I have great neighbours, very little crime in the area and only 5 or six miles from the SoL, so quite happy with my lot...

I've lived in a lot of places,left the NE when i was sixteen.
Lived in plymouth for about 5 years,then moved to weymouth(15 years),then onto london(12 years) and now living in spain(8 years upto now).
Plymouth and Weymouth,lovely places,but found most of the people very anti outsiders(use to call us grockles),London well what can i say made many friends outside of london and through job,but again small fish in big pond type place,most cockneys very friendly,but still that feeling of north south divide.
Spain has got great weather,still pretty cheap to live out here but general feeling lesser inteligent spanish people do not really want foreigners here,very corrupt hence why the country is in deep ****e.
So i will be returning back to uk in 2015.

We were the small lab to the left of the Dun Cow from high-row side, there was an estate agents opposite Tarn & Bainbridge, Smthys the bakers and a ticket office a bit further up. That's where I got my U2 Joshua Tree tour tickets from in 87 for the Leeds concert. What a small world..

You take care Bri, have a bit of crack with my lad Teessidemackem when he's back from Cornwall and hopefully meet up for a beer at the Fulham game. Iv'e got a very hungary Cerebal Palsic partner who is bed bound at the moment calling for me for food, so it's time to go lol.. Be safe, take care & be happy..

i live in boldon colliery and its pretty much the best place ive ever lived. its quite and i have never had any trouble. theres a massive 24 asda at the end of my street and a 24 hour macdonalds drive through as well.
theres a massive nature reserve out the back of where i live so its good for the little un. my neighbours are sweet and always make a point oif saying hello and talking to my son. i have lived all over sunderland but am never planning on moving from where i am now

Born in sunderland, lived in high barnes, moved to kirkley in lowestoft at 5, came back to the motherland 9 years later, back to barnes, my first gaff with mrs effect was millfield then we moved over to greystoke, absolutely love it we do, fantastic neighbours, great schools, lovely estate, dont think we'll ever move

Born & bred there, still lve in Boldon, smack in between anywhere you want to go in NE England. People have always been friendly here, used to be a rough place when I was a kid (50's) but by and large settled down now.

3 or more Pubs playing regular live music and 4 pubs within 10 minute walk of my house..... perfick!!
