TEAM NEWS

BIRMINGHAM
Jonathan Spector (fractured cheekbone), David Murphy (knee) and Will Packwood (leg) won't be involved for the opener due to injury but there is an outside chance of Nikola Zigic (back) and Darren Ambrose (groin) returning.

However, Lee Novak and Kyle Bartley are in line for their Blues debuts having recovered from knocks picked up during pre-season.

WATFORD
Zola has a fully fit squad to choose from aside from injured defender Nyron Nosworthy (Achilles) and Tommie Hoban (ankle).

Just a quicky guys. But Enjooooooooy The Game!!!!

Thanks Dan. 4.00pm tomorrow here it all starts again. ;) Let's hope that the time the players have been together this year gets us off to a flyer.

Leaving for Brum in about half an hour, the anticipation is killing me!!

Obviously a win would be perfect today, but beyond that I'll be looking at the performance more than anything. I've seen people saying that they want us to be more like Cardiff (ie. rigid, defensive, nicking 1-0 and 2-1 wins every week) but I have to disagree with their wishes. I still want to see that same brand of gung-ho attacking football we saw last season - the only difference should be a defense that is less porous.

Hopefully the signs today will be promising! COYH!!

Have a great game :)

I agree... .the style of play last season was one I really enjoyed. We need to keep playing it, keep the goals going in and yes.. tighten up in defence..

I guess after half a dozen games we will know...

Jon Marks is reporting that all 2,600 advance tickets have been sold but a few will be available on the gate.

Sounds as if things are starting where they left off with a decent away following. <ok>

Scratch my last post - person hit by a train at Milton Keynes station, we've been stuck just outside Berkhamstead for an hour now. Look like the Golden Boys will have to do without my support today :(

Anyone else taking the train and in the same situation?

Seems as if there is chaos out there with the motorways and trains. The train one can take several hours to sort out. I won't go into details. :(
