About 34 pages of that is the scousers, claiming there squad is better than ours, oh and did you know that coutinio is the new messi? And apparently rogers is a better manager than wenger. Got to the delusion of the scousers.

  2. I had hoped that after three seasons of mid-table mediocrity and finishing below Everton twice on the trot would have rid the red Mouser of much of his delusion, but it has not. If anything, he is more deluded now than at any time in history. It's as though the crapper 'Pool gets the more deluded the Mouser becomes, like some kind of crazy balancing act.

You're a stange one HIAG, how you keep up this polite invective against Liverpool is beyond me. I am always surprised when I see a post from you about Spurs. Then I remember, oh yes! Hoddle he IS a Spurs supporter it shouldn't be odd that he comments about Spurs, nevertheless, as I said it's always a surprise. <laugh>

Do you have Liverpool connections HIAG?

  5. Something just doesn't add up, here.

We all think the man is a complete and utter idiot, but there is no denying that he has talent. I have little doubt that he could take his pick of clubs, and yet here he is vying for a move to AFC! One top player (Higuain) has already shunned the club, but that doesn't seem to have given Goofy any hints, at all.

And yes, we all appreciate that Arsenal has CL football this season... well, at least until the last 16... but so do a lot of other teams around Europe. Even Celtic have European football, and he's more likely to win something with Celtic (namely, the Scottish League) than he is with Arsenal.

Is it because Goofy knows that no decent club will come in for him, what with all his baggage? I strongly suspect so. I suppose Goofy will also be saying to himself, "Okay, so Arsenal's star is very much on the wane, all their decent players have already left the club, they cannot attract new decent players, and they are absolutely useless in Europe, but at least Whinger is stupid enough to pay me good money; plus, when I've had enough, I can always engineer a move to £ity for even more money. Or Barcelona, if I can work miracles and clean up my act."

Having said that, 'Pool do seem intent on holding onto their chief racist and serial biter, so there are no guarantees.

Cute, but the player hasn't shunned us. The club has shunned us for not valuing a player who hasn't been a first teamer for years (no matter how talented) at 35 Mil.

There is another factor now in play. These super-earners have (or their agents have) priced themselves out of playing for the average top division side in any country. Their wages can only be afforded by very few clubs, so its no wonder they are angling toward certain clubs, those are the only clubs that can afford them! This is another feature of the new wealth of Man City, PSG, Monaco etc. They bring in more players than they can reasonably use, and then those players have very few options if/when they want to move unless they (shock horror) take a pay cut. This is OK while these top wage earners move between a relatively few clubs. It might even not be a problem for the very next club they go to as the super-rich clubs might continue to pay part of their wages just to unload them. But I'm thinking that somewhere down the line there are problems being caused.

The other factor of course is that wages are not discussed enough when it comes to mega transfer prices. Yes, I know it's hard to believe that there is not enough in-depth analysis going on, but there you have it. And I mean for exaple that massive wages outstrip transfer prices rather quickly. A guy on £100,000 a week costs £5.2 million each year! Of course the sensible posters of the Spurs board appreciate this, but most of these hacks don't seem to. If you for example get £85 million for a player (just picked that figure out of thin air of course, just like everyone else), and buy three top quality players with it, what is the extra wages you end up paying out? You can be sure that three top players will cost more in wages than the one you have sold, even if that player was your top earner. Over a couple of years that is going to make a big dent!

Swansea are 2-0 up against Malmo in the Europa League. Michu got the opener and Bony got his first for his new club.
It'll be interesting to see how they start their campaign, as they'll have a little more sharpness than other sides, but they have a tough opening run.
Man Utd, us, West Brom, Liverpool, Palace and then Arsenal.

Talking about a players high wages.....surely if that player,be it Sewerage or any other goal scorer can get you into the CL or win a trophy or two won't the money coming in from these events pay their high wages?
If you don't win anything you won't bring much dollar lolly into the club and the "good" players won't join you!

That's the Catch 22 of modern football. In order to win things you have to spend big, so once you've won something there's virtually nothing to spend.
