Their is an interesting thread on the qpr site stating Tarabt is close to signing for Fulham!!!!

This is interesting because he is a creative midfielder which we need and also on his day he is world class

But.... He is from qpr and is inconsistent

Personally I think he my be slightly better for us as he won't be such a big fish and Jol signed him originally so he may have more motivation!

Could we play him berbatov and Ruiz together? The sensible answer is yes at home but no away!!! I would argue yes for both if the three of them won us one in every three away games but we got thrashed in the other two that would be a good return

Ruiz berbatov and Tarabt behind bent in a 4231 would win us enough games to stay up I'm sure but it would mean dropping Kaca and Dejagah which I'm not happy about!!!

I'll believe it when I see it. Where on earth would he fit in?

On the face of it, it would be a choice between him and Bryan at CM. But Jol is not going to drop Ruiz, so he may think of playing Taarabt in the centre and Bryan left midfield?

Taarabt almost single handedly got QPR out of the Championship. He's skillful, good turn of pace and okay his shooting can be erratic, but he at least does have a go - something our team was lacking last season. My doubts are about his work rate. Then there is his attitude/moodiness but how much that was down to management I'd only speculate.

I tell you what, if it's a choice between him and Cattermole - no brainer!

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL SIGNING!

Please take it from a Spurs fan that ~loved~ him (really) when he was at Spurs.

He is a spoilt, stuck up, arrogant mercenary who thinks he is one of the best players in the world.

Fulham can do so much better and he'd dirty the reputation of your club.

    Steer clear!!!

Taarabt could work out - could, not would - but not in a side already including Ruiz and Berbatov. But we still need someone to pull the strings in midfield. I'm starting to wonder if Jol plans to promote someone from the fringes or the youth squad.

Thanks for the insight Jamsy and your good words about our integrity. I'd completely forgotten that he had moved to QPR from Spurs, where he obviously didn't get on with Ramos. And also that he moved to you from Lens - who we're having a little spat with at the moment. I understand Lens, or at least the Lens fans, felt that he had sold them short.

So he obviously has a bit of history. Fulham fans still relish the story about him getting the bus home at half time after being subbed in the game we gave them a 6-0 drubbing at the Cottage.

I believe Jol signed him for Spurs, too.

Obviously he's got talent, but like Captain says, I can't see him doing much good for our side. Also, his past doesn't speak well of him; I remember he quit international football in a huff, mouthing off and all the rest of it, and a few months later he's back playing and kissing the badge. Blegh.

Rumour on twitter is that the signing is going to be announced tomorrow. Not too reliable but i for one would like him if he is able to replicate his form for QPR in the championship and i also think that there is no better manager than Martin Jol to handle his personality.

Quality player.....in the championship, not sure if he can cut it in the prem, however it will be interesting to see how he does with better players around him than the dross we had last season.

Posted this on the rumours thread, but it seems more at home here....

Taarabt has always reminded me of a raw Eric Cantona when he was at Leeds. He's got the potential of being world class if he sorted his head out and knuckled down. I'd like to see him at the Cottage on loan, and his presence and competition may bring the best out of Ruiz.

I'd like to see Taarabt play behind Berbatov. This would leave Ruiz at a loose end....does anyone think he could replace Danny Murphy as our creative central midfielder. He looks lost out wide, but I've always thought he's better in the centre with more options, plus he can thread a decent murphyesque defence splitting ball.

Granted defensively he's about as effective as Dickson Etuhu was offensively - but we have plenty of DM partners to cover for him.

On another note, gutted to see Bardiniho leave. If only Taarabt could inherit his attitude.

I know he can run with the ball and shoot well (on his day) but whats his passing like? I was hoping for someone to put the wingers through (or a new striker if we got one).

It could be a good signing, can't see how Ruiz, Berbatov and Taarabt all together could work- lots of skill going forward but the sum of bugger all in terms of defending from the front and pressuring defenders. He's not a bad additional but as far from the type of player we need as is imaginable- unless you consider Joey Barton or the convict West Ham are after.

Atleast he knows where the Crabtree is!

Whats his passing like? ****ing sublime. If any of you like sitting on the edge of your seat, you're up for a treat.
Yes he is immature. Yes, he can sulk, yes, yes, yes to all his faults but, despite that, it will be his positives that you go away and talk about. He will not be missed by all at Loftus Rd, but he will by most.

Thanks for the steer, Belfasthoop. I hope Bairdinho and our other old boys do well for you this year.

Fulham traveller: I have mixed feelings about the signing - he could be wonderful, he could be a disaster - so getting him on loan is a good move. The only downside (unless there's an option to buy written into the loan deal) is that if he does well for us and QPR bounce straight back up, we might find it difficult to make the signing permanent.

as he's a loan he must play...pressure firmly on Ruiz i'd say and that's a good thing. We need a squad in this league, there will be injuries, Ruiz does get injured remember the broken foot affair.

Nonsense. There will be a sea of tears on the QPR forum the minute he leaves.

Having seen you are almost nailed on for Taarabt now *here*

I just want to say that although I said he would be an "AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL signing" for you guys, that was as a permanent signing. On loan I think he is actually a good signing as if he's playing ****e you can just drop him and not worry about it.

Fingers crossed for you guys this season
