Only my second time doing the daily thread so lets hope it's a lucky one.i really fancy ted veale to score in the Galway hurdle tomorrow.the ground won't be an issue, horse won well at the Cheltenham festivel this year and trainer tony Martin is in spanking good form with four winners at the Galway festivel so far.im on at 6/1 but can't see that price lasting.also want to say how sad I was to hear of the death of rte sports broadcaster colm Murray yesterday.a great man for the hoses he battled motor neuron disease for the last three and made a tearful documentary about it last year.rip a chairde

    Goodwood 4.50

    Pythagorean part 4

Jockey/running issues last 2 runs that he should have won time to make up for it today. Big on 10/3

4.40 Stratford DANEVA 7-1 form at this track reads 2331. A course and distance winner last time out with the sort of gutsy display I like to see. He has never followed up any of his three wins with another win but off only four pounds higher I can see him bucking that trend tomorrow.
Trickiest day of the week tomorrow at Goodwood. I shall double up Daneva with PYTHAGOREAN but be content to probably just watch the rest of the fare!

    Good luck to you all.

Forecasting Tornado's and 40mm of rain in Ireland tomorrow, yes you heard right, Tornado's. Galway will be a wash out and I hope those funnel clouds don't materialise as forecast. With you on Ted Veale Ste and also well said on Colm, didn't know him personally but seemed a nice man and loved his racing.

Sad to hear about Colm Murray ste - never knew of him but always sad to hear when racing loses a good servant in any capacity.

The Galway hurdle is, as always, a fascinating race and it will be really interesting to see how Rock Critic goes - you'd have to think they sent him over hurdles so late in his career in order to try and land a nice pot like this, but if he takes this race off 146 (what a ludicrous rating for a horse which has won 2 maiden hurdles BTW) he'll most likely have to be going for the Champion Hurdle. On a strict line through Make Your Mark he'd have a chance, although you'd think he might be flattered by his victory over the Mullins horse at Fairyhouse. I'm not sure what to make of Jason Maguire and the first time tongue-strap but a small e/w dabble on him and the other Dermot Weld runner Hisaabaat who finished 3 lengths second behind Countrywide Flame in the Triumph Hurdle, won the Champion 4YO Hurdle at Punchestown thereafter and goes here off 134 with a 3lb claimer. He had a miserable winter as a 5YO but maybe a nice break, a spin on the flat and the loving hands of Mr Weld can bring him back to something more like.

E/w on both of these and a small play of the reverse forecast.

    Best of luck everyone.

If the ground dries up I think Mount Athos is a really nice one in the Goodwood Cup, but it needs to dry up.

Goodwood will get glorious weather tomorrow Nass. Not a cloud all day and temperatures in the high twenties!

CAUCAS 6/1 each way seems a fair play. I lumped him LTO and he ran in quite nicely. It's the same reasoning tomorrow although not with the same confidence.

WILD COCO is rock solid at odds against to win the Langtry for the second time. This field is a bit short of last years.

Same here Stick. I'll probably be down the beach all afternoon and miss all the racing. Just about to look at the cards and see if I can pick a winner.

I get the logic on Hisabaat but I can't for one second believe Dr Ronan Lambe would sell a horse who had a great chance of winning the Galway Hurdle.

Just done a large e/w bet for me on another Hannon horse tomorrow. With him having a good day today I have just taken 15/2 BOG on THUNDER STIKE in the 2.45 race. Mr Hannon has won this race 4 times in the last 5 years and last year his representative was beaten only 1/2 length. He obviously likes this race and this is his only runner in it. Good enough for me.

It's going to be horrendous ground chaps. You'll need something that runs up with the pace and who stays longer. Make Your Mark lads? Am I going to the well once too often? I think I'll get a run for my money for a little play. It's going to be hard I think at Galway.

Cheers Bob. Another one I like the look of is OIL STRIKE in the 5.30 Nottingham. Going for the hat trick tomorrow and he beat Cruise to the limit and boni beach boy the last time. CTTL came third yesterday at goodwood and second was Six Wives who was tipped on here by Chelsea when he won 2 races ago. BBB won the other day at Beverley. Form looking good so what are the chances of a STRIKE double tomorrow.

Cause of Cause@ 20s ew in the Galway Hurdle tomorrow. Spread eagled a decent field in the Ladbroke Hurdle at Ascot in bog like conditions at the back end of 2012. Though top weight tomorrow the claimer allowance means he lines up only 1lb higher than he did at Ascot. That'll do for me. Good luck all.

I don't think he gets beaten. Unpenalised for his easy win LTO and still well in old form.
