And so many games in an important role for one of the best sides in the world for several years. If that doesn't prove he's ****, I don't know what does.

Are you talking about Manchester City who have won ONE Premier League title in 45 years.

Gareth Barry played a part in so much that he was a member of their squad. One of their key big hitters, no chance.
Had a woeful season last year and will be very surprised if he is paramount in Pellegrini plans.

hmmmmmmmm just heard a a rumour from a friend which goes like this :-Wtf Torres was at staplewood today so a very high up source tells me !! Just trying to find out WHO exactly this source is but i really really cant see it!!

Riiight.

Going by appearances made he was their 7th most important player last season. Played more than Kompany, Aguero, Nasri, among others.

What are you talking about? Barry has been there for four years, during which they have definitely been among the best teams in the world, what relevance does the rest of their history have in a discussion about Gareth Barry? On top of that he's played over 30 games a year every season for them, starting the vast majority of them, so he's hardly some squad member chipping away at the reserves while warming their bench, he's been a very regular member of their first team.

If you have to win a major trophy every season to not be considered a crap player, then we are one **** team.

"One of the best teams in the world for several years,"...what are you talking about??

How many years are you talking?? two, five, ten, please tell me!!

Four years. Obviously. The years Gareth Barry has been there. Every other year is completely irrelevant.

In my opinion Barry is good as a utility no-frills player. Almost like a jack cork player in that he does a lot of good things but they go unnoticed. I particularly rated him back at villa, where he tended to get forward a lot more. This season he has been woeful though, I'm not sure if its age, Mancini's tactics or whatever. I don't watch that much of Man City so I don't know. You can't write him off and say he's crap, but on the other hand he has been crap all season.

The reason I was unhappy with him being in the England squad isn't because he is a poor player, but because he was being used hopelessly incorrectly by a succession of managers, and also he is a victim of being a 'jack of all trades' type player. England have better specific options than him for every midfield position, so his inclusion should only ever be as cover.

That's a fair assessment and reflects my feelings also.

Who said Barry alone was to blame for Man City's failures last season??? That's complete bullshit spouted by you.

Have you missed my reply? He played more games for City than anyone else bar Hart and Silva in their title-winning season. How do you explain the correlation between City's success and Barry's inclusion in the team?
