Anyway, apologies about HIAG, back to the OP. I agree that the smart money is on Arsenal, Utd, Chelsea and City somewhere in the top 4, but in which order is another thing entirely.

Three out of those 4 clubs have new managers and I think it might take some time for them to settle in and make their mark on their teams. Maybe Mourinho has an easier job than the others as he's been at Chelsea before, but you'd still expect some bedding in time.

I think Pelligrini will take the longest to settle, he's a quality manager but completely new to the PL, although in time I think he'll make a big difference at City, who were let's face it a mish mash of individuals under Mancini. Pelligrini will get them playing like a team again. Moyes is a complete unknown at this level, people rightly laud him for what he did at Everton, but Utd is a different beast altogether, I'm really not sure which way it's going to go with him. Arsenal, if we spend, CAN mount a serious title bid, but I don't think we'll win it.

Outside of the top 4, I think the usual suspects Liverpool, Everton and Spurs will be battling it out for the Europey places again. My feeling is that Everton will struggle without Moyes though. For the Spuds, the best thing they might hope for is that Liverpool sell Suarez to Arsenal, that way they are unlikely to overtake spurs this season and with Everton potentially struggling, Spuds can enjoy Thursday night football for another season.

Come one CFC fans, a lot of negativity going on in here.

1 - Chelsea
2 - City
3 - Arsenal
4 - United / Tottenham

City are just what they always were. A bunch of merchants now lead by Mancini MK II. Old Moyes is going to struggle to regain momentum after being battered by Mourinho at OT (you know it), Arsenal will just lack that final bit of quality to push for the title and with or without Bale, Spuds still could nip United to top 4.

Lets have a little bit of preseason confidence eh? :1980_boogie_down:

I agree with this. I am totally sick of it now to the point I go days without even coming in here, and I feel quite angry for the OP's. It must be very frustrating for them. I don't often post atm mostly read for out of season info etc
I'm sick of it too, but I don't see why its HIAG's fault. He makes a perfectly reasonable factual comment on the subject matter of the thread and everyone then goes for him.

Everyone?
I only saw PISKIE.

The formula on Not606 is as follows:

1) Someone makes a thread
2) There a few replies
3) HIAG appears and makes a stupid comment
4) PISKIE appears like lightning to repeat the same old bollocks (come back to haunt you, you are a coward)
5) HIAG does a <doh> smiley and says something in retaliation

and BINGO....thread derailed!

Exactly right (well we can debate point 3) but it is ALWAYS Piskie that escalates it. I really think the mods on here should have a word (if not already done).

Thing is I have seen them both make decent posts and contributions etc
It seems to be when they are in proximity with each other they both turn into douche bags.

And are you debating that HIAG doesnt make silly comments? lol :p

Not always <whistle>

On this thread for example, Arsenal have been included (by your good self) as a title challenger. Some of us (unless they start spending) would argue that we are more of a challenger (unless we start selling) and that is a reasonable debating point. HIAGs post was to the point of the thread.

Well 'everyone' was an exaggeration but Manobear and KingOssie got in before Piskie. In this case it wasn't even a silly comment from HIAG. Most Arsenal fans don't think they are title contenders next year.

I added Arsenal because they finished in the top 4 last season, and didnt add Spurs because they didnt.
If you notice I predicted Arsenal may drop out of the top 4 if they dont spend.
Logic and form would dictate that if they did, the most likely team to oust them would be Spurs.
It all depends on what players both clubs sign for me.

Where did I say it was HIAG's fault ? And where did I 'go for him' ?

The top 4 last season didn't include Spurs so perhaps that was the reason the OP referred to the teams he did as 'the top 4' only he can answer that one.

I disagree the common denominator here is Hiag. Twice banned and should now be banished for good. As they say there's no good point in going back and he should be nipped in the bud now before the season starts so the real issues can be handled like a Chelsea title surge without the thread detractors doing what they do.

Not to speak for PS, but it's others that "go for him", not you, I'm sure that's what he meant. And in the debate about letting HIAG post on here, you made your feelings about him very well known, so it is reasonable to suggest your ire was directed towards him. Others seem to get away with abuse without a word mentioned.

Edit, and right on cue, another one joins in above.

One could say the same thing about you too, you only serve to protect Hiag for reasons known only to yourself other than that you never make a worthwhile debate or even banter.

You got in there before I finished posting, and I was right.
As you say it is early yet to be deciding but it was a good mid season post IMO.

Its all getting a little tedious now this spud invasion of our board. Its like they have orchestrated an attack to derail every thread we put out and it all stems from letting that ignoramus Hiag back for a third time!

And you and Ossie jump all over him, despite a free vote going against you, for reasons known only to you?

HIAG is presumably on thin ice here and probably doesn't want to engage with every bit of abuse you lot dish out. Presumably if he did you'd be calling for him to be banned for taking threads off topic. It bothers me that any one is treated like that, anywhere. To be honest I would feel the same if it were an Arsenal or Chelsea fan being treated in the same way. If the debate is even handed, I stay out. When a few of you gang up, I state my views. That clear enough for you?
