No it's only a lot of Twitter chat at the moment although it has now progressed to you being interested in another CB. I agree with you that you should be looking at the massive positives of Bale leaving. If you can get 70 mill plus Di Maria that looks an incredible bit of business to me! Maybe that new found richness means you don't need 8mill CB's anymore though and whilst Everton, Newcastle and our mates you mention are all more established* if none of them will pay you 8mill then it's us or the 4th/5th choice CB slot at yours which really doesn't lend it's self to a place in the Rio 2014 squad. *Newcastle and Swansea both have pretty recent Champioship stints on their CV's so they're hardly PL furniture.
Doesn't it just piss you off when someone from another club comes on here and says a player of theirs deserves better than Cardiff? What's worse is they precede it with "no offence meant" - what? Are we supposed to placated by that qualification. What a patronising twat! I expect I'll get a warning for that....... Maybe Caulker will decide to slum it down with us here whilst watching the "top half clubs" Everton, Newcastle and Swansea ply their trade amongst the elite of the division. We can only hope to play the same 38 games this season and doff our caps when we meet them.
Not wumming , but he has the potential to play for any of the 'big ' clubs & currently does but not yet consistently ,still young with years in front of him so I can understand why the Spurs fan posted what he did .If you did get him then you'll be having a very talented player (bastards)
You want to stay off twitter sparks. Every name we get linked to is followed by a load of pre pubescent kids declaring how players deserve better than us. Par for the course for a season I'd say. Lets see if we can change a few opinions over the course of the season.
Well Caulker has played at Brizzle and the Jacks on loan, so he may as well come and play for the biggest club in Wales and the South West.
LATEST RUMOUR. 7.5 million bid has been accepted by Spurs, only Twitter Rumours but they seem to be getting stronger, could all be bullshit though !!!!
I think Spurs would be mad to sell Caulker not just you you guys but to anyone. Another loan stint to a top Prem team would help to smooth off those rough edges and make him the top CB he's destined to be.
The Swansea part of that was obviously a wum although more accurate for one season than the Geordie reference. In light of our new 'not going tit for tat' rules I let him have one. Sparks has called him a twat anyway so all is well.
I have a feeling that if this was true and Cardiff did have a £7.5m bid accepted then the Swans would be right behind them matching it. I believe the club would still be interested in him and after the first season loan we tried to get him again, his resell value would be much bigger than £7.5m which is why I don't think there is any truth in it. If a player like Ince commands £8m, or Cornelious for that matter, then Caulker would be double. The reason I say this is he is young, English, proven in the league and is touted to be a future England captain. Realistically I would say he is out of both our clubs' price league.
****ing hope not! He's not good enough to play regularly for us yet but I'd be very disappointed if we sold him. I'd be surprised if he doesn't become an England starter in the future and I really just don't see the sense in taking a quick buck for him, we could sell Dawson for as much and as much as I love our dear captain, I'd much rather he was the one sold. £7-8mill would be a very good deal for you guys too. As for a loan, it could make sense as we're supposedly signing some Romanian centre back and Caulker could definitely do with some regular football. But I was hoping that with the Europa League and long term injury doubts over Kaboul that Caulker would get plenty of games this season. Touching again on our potential incoming defender, we had 5 centre backs last season so I guess it could be the plan to have that many again. Vertonghen can cover left back very capably too so it could be that Caulker still gets enough games.
I very much doubt that there is any truth in this, but if there was, then kairdiff would find themselves competing with us and others!.............
If Caulker was to go out on a season loan, surely it would be to a team that could offer him European football? Cant see him being sold for £8 mil, there would be a load of clubs all over that deal. Cardiff have to wake up to the fact they are a small fish in a big pond, its going to be difficult to attract players in the first season unless they are mercenaries looking for big wages and long contracts. its a shame for Cardiff because he would be ideally suited to build a defence around.
If you get him, I know you won't like this bit but you could have a future England captain playing for you! We had him when he was a youngster, but the moment you daw him play with the composure of a senior pro was evident to all. Do I think you will get him, yeah because he could make a name for himself instead of waiting at Spurs and book his ticket to Rio. One thing for certain is you won't be disappointed with this purchase if it comes off.
As ROD says.....the lad is a class act and a definate international. He was only 19 or something and was so far ahead of our defence it was embarrasing for the rest!.......good luck in getting him!
