I think that's harsh on Bale, who's got more in his locker than just raw pace. I take your point to a certain extent though.
Rodgers does not think Suarez would be half the player he is outside Liverpool Reina is telling some porkies
Rodgers likely to be right of value of Suarez if he's not playing for Liverpool. As for Reina, his wages not helpful...also think Liverpool went about it in the wrong way.
I don't think there is, the valuation are being set by the media at the minute. Suarez is being under quoted and Bale over quoted. The former will go (if he goes which i think will) for around £50m and the latter will go for around £65m IMO. I'd put that difference down to baggage and age Real had already spent £120m (Abdiol @ £25m, Alonso @ £35m and Kaka @ £60m) before they splashed £80m on Ronaldo
No way will Levy let him leave for that. He's going to screw the best part of £90m out them for him, as Perez has now more or less committed to bringing him in via Marca. It's an unbelievable figure, but watch it unfold mate. Let's not forget btw that Madrid have had over £50m this window from Napoli. I still think they want both players personally, but they appear to have made Bale their No.1 priority which might have something to do with the seeming reluctance of Ronaldo to sign a new contract & he's only got 2 years left. The last week of this window could be total carnage, with clubs looking to spend money like drunken sailors, with a few monster moves being the catalyst & the money then flowing through the pyramid.
Suarez's character has damaged his market value. Though Suarez do not get injured frequently ( considering match suspension) buying clubs have to be cautious. On the other hand Bale gets injured more frequently than Suarez you cannot hold anything against his character as a results his value goes up: whereas Suarez value comes down.
I would absolutely love Spurs to turn down a bid of £75m or something crazy and for Bale to have a season of 7 goals and 6 assists for them next year
It just shows the overrated view of the PL in the media. because he won both awards he must be worth nearly 100m Even Ronaldo's price of £80m was way too high though Madrid have probably made most if not all of that back anyway on him. Bale £35-£40 million max, add Madrid's usual stupidity with large bids and you get £55-£60 million. last season was his first playing like that, lets see if he stays that is, what happens when he's accounted for by the opposition, teams that payed attention to his threat nullified him last season
If Real pay £90m for Bale then I hope they fail drastically! That is simply a stupid amount of money for what is a very good player. He isn't a world class player like Ronaldo was (although £80m was probably too much at the time too). fair enough, he probably will become world class but £90m...???? That is insane! I don't see Real paying that sort of money and I do actually agree with you that Levy won't want to sell for £65m (which is equally crazy)
From the time of Alan Sugar Spurs operates like a trading company, so I cannot see them turning a bid of £75m down. Massive profit 75-12 £63m profit. Mate they are going to accept it.
now way 90m, Ronaldo had significant pull financially outside of even jerseys ect and what he does on the pitch, massive image rights that Bale does not. Ronaldo was a superstar before madrid bought him, Bale is a dwarf star
Ronaldo also has huge advertising potential. I don't think monkey boy will be the face of Real in the same way as Ronaldo is.
They won't, I guarantee it. Levy has set his price & he's as stubborn as a mule, as he's proved on more than one occasion. On a side note LMAO at Southampton who wrote off their 25% sell on clause for Bale a couple of years back, as well as the £5m add ons negotiated as part of the original deal - in exchange for £3m cash when they were skint They could have spunked £20m there.
Or alternatively gone bust and not got a penny! Southampton would still get a bit of money for being the club he trained at apparently. Its 2% I believe
Now then let's see what really happens. If Levy digs his heals-in then he's likely to have to forgo a large profit. Real may appear to throw money around like confetti but when they have paid REALLY big money eg Ronaldo they have had a very well considered plan as to how they are going to recoup the expense. They already know that Bale is a 'hot' property but has little commercial value at present. That mere fact could well temper their bidding style. Levy knows that either this year or next he is going to have to cash-in on Bale. He also needs to build a new stadium and another side. Whichever option he choses he's taking a very big risk. Bale can follow Torres's example of a year long sulk if he doesn't get the move he wants when he wants!
I think its simply down to who blinks first. Real could run it up to the end of the transfer window and get along just fine with their squad as is, might even throw in a late suarez bid just to shake things up. Levy needs to hold on for the max and that means waiting for the real bid to come in and then negotiating on it. The one thing i think we can all agree on here is spurs cannot afford to sit on that 85mil so they do need a week or whatever to buy in new players after the sale. Very much the same as out position. We need suarez gone but not to arsenal and we are waiting to sell him to buy. The tevez example btw is far more likely than the torres example. bale will not sulk. i think he's unambitious and don't believe he's pushing spurs whatsoever. he was stupid to sign a new deal with spurs.
If Real are going to try and buy both then it would make sense for them to try for Suarez first with Bale looking more expensive. If Ayre and co. see Bale go for £70m+ then they'll ask for more for Suarez
