Strengthening is needed - we know. We're in talks with a highly rated keeper and a fullback - MMs signings often come out of the blue so Im not panicking. You mention QPR, they spent loads and look what happened there. No conclusions can be drawn yet, no matter how much you try.
Your not to far off there Dai, We've singed a keeper who is thought to be an England star of the future, also a right back who is thought to be the best in the Championship last season and is getting rave reports form people who know more about football than me. We've got a few bids for centre backs in the pipeline. Still time the window don't close until end of August. I'm quite happy with the way Malky is going. Time will tell.
You obviously know a lot about both players, which is impressive. Shame MM and his staff didnt have that level of knowledge about the 2 of them.....
Thanks for your constructive post musty, I think I'll leave it to Malky and his team but I'll put a good word in for you when we are looking for players in Queensland.
This forum is all about opinions, and there seem to be as many from outside our club as the Cardiff fans themselves. Nothing wrong with that, but there should be some background knowledge to support an opinion. With all due respect musty, unless it's a deliberate wind up, I can't understand the point in commenting on something you know **** all about.
Sparks He doesn't know that much. And as for Dai's comment about a dodgy keeper, was Dai at Cheltenham yesterday? Wouldn't surprise me as he follows us so much. Their goal was down to poor marking, nothing else. No blame on Marshie who had little to do and FGR's goals in the week were against Lewis.
On thread but slightly different. Great turnout yesterday, must have been about 1,500 of us for a friendly. For those of us who were there does anyone know how the little lad who got smacked by the ball during the pre-match kick in got on? he took it full in the face, seemed okay but then collapsed. He had come around by the time the para meds got to him but sensibly his dad carried him away to get him checked over. The players, who were very concerned, gave him a ball for his troubles. Finally did our new friend, their keeper Scott, give us an Ayatollah as he went off? I know he got a cheer but didn't see him action our request.
The lad i believe is fine according to the AAMB board, There keeper gave a small Ayatollah just enough to get his cheer and walk off laughing. Excellent turn out yesterday and some silly idiots letting off smoke bombs Why would you risk a ban and prison sentence if unlucky ????
Thanks for the update Eldon. Agreed on the smoke bombs. Stewards were searching anyone looking a bit suspicious on the way in so how did they manage to smuggle in the smoke bombs? I didn't get searched though.
Just found this on youtube. Not sure how many have seen it:
Thanks for that ITI, interesting viewing. Bellamy and Kim looked sharp and that Cornelius looks as if he'll win his fair share of headers. Different challengs to come but a few more weeks preparation, and hopefully a new player or two. Eldon, I was at the game last year and their keeper took a bit of flack. Was having a right paddy at something, just in front of us. He was subbed in the second half and every time their sub keeper had the ball the chants of 'Cheltenham's No 1' went up from the bluebird faithful.
If my memory serve me right, he got caught out by a quick whittingham free kick (not often i put whittingham and quick together) and had a paddy with his back 4. Its great to go to old style stadiums were your near enough on the pitch !!!
The one thing yesterday showed is we really need a defensive midfielder and get whitts a lot further forward. Liked the look of cornelius he looked sharp in the box, Brayford will be a great signing as well was getting forward and giving us width when he came on.
