They are probably surprised they are seeing such competitive matches, half of these sides expect to lose by at least 5 goals.

Saw the Galaxy completely outplay City a year or two ago! Was hoping maybe an MLS team could show you how to do things 'Merica style.

No it wasn't. Playing in Asia means big jump in fittness due to heat and humidity, next best thing to altitude training. Also big increase in profile, ie sales and turnover, which we will need for FFP. So on those 2 levels, clever scheduling. Given that all pre season games involve playing virtually 2 teams, doesn't matter who we play, not a hell of a lot of benefit if its Barca or Bournemouth.
Right on! Also a great opportunity to allow returning on- loaners and new signings a chance to meld together in matches that are not important competition -wise! Now on to the more "important" friendly against Inter! This is bound to be competive although -again -there will be no prizes for the winner, but lots of kudos!
Lafferpool only beat them 2-0 so they couldn't be that bad if they can hold the mighty Lafferpool to just 2.
A late goal secured a precious 2-2 draw for struggling United this afternoon...
