To express some doubts about the style of football he chose to play last season and reservations on whether he might change it this coming one, and we're all suddenly Lex Luther in our "vendetta" against poor Chris. Fairly pathetic as always Supers! (You actually post more stupid and juvanile insults than football points and opinions) I am behind CH (for now) and the team always, CH starts with a clean slate this season I just hope its better watchin' than last. I am very excited by some of the signings and think we could have a good season to look forward to (Ever so sorry for still having an opinion on CH which is not unquestioning faith old chap, here's to hoping we see more of the form in the last 2 games, than many of the preceeding 36) Bah!
I would also like to point out that, as far as I know, Melchett, myself, Cromer et al have never come on here and called someone a c*nt, unlike the person who likes to think he is so superior to the rest of us.
I think he must work for the government. "We must erradicate any thought that is not pro-establishment or the way we think". Right now Vietnam I am having a bet with myself.....(And no thats not a euphamism!) Bah! p.s. We're getting as bad as Robbie, this is way off topic!
No doubt soemone will be accused of being a happy clapper soon, can't wait for the new season and to get the real insults going. FFS! - who needs binners when we can do it ourselves!
I can't believe I'm saying this but if we don't win our next pre season game I think they'd better start installing some bouncy castles under the cathedral because some people are ready to jump.
It's impressive that you've started predicting doom this early, we're all very impressed, but we'd really like to see you up your game and predict doom for the 2014/2015 season. We know you can do it, we believe in you.
I must say that I am intriuged by whats going to happen next season. Some are being a bit harsh on CH and judging him too early. Last year he inherited a squad that was not his and did not have time to get the attacking/forward players in that he wanted, his instruction was to stay up at all costs so we received the extra TV bonus money. He achieved the target set by Mcnally, job done. Was the football great to watch? No. Did it ensure we stayed in the division? Yes. Did it pay off ALL of our debt from the bad old days. Yes! Now things are evolving, with signings like Fer and RVW and it's bloody exciting! I can't wait to see how the team lines up on the first day of the season and what we are like with our new signings. My thoughts are that CH is good manager and the negative football was mainly down to the staff at his disposal. For all the positive feeling I had about Holt the 4-5-1 system was not really his bag. Newcastle did very well under CH and scored plenty of goals and were exciting to watch so I think things will approve, when slating the formation as negative please remember that Barca, Dortmund, Bayern and Real Madrid use the same formation as we did last season most of the time and they are not boring to watch are they? Bottom line, give the bloke a chance and behind the team.
That's what I'm thinking. I could argue with some of what you've said, but not today and hopefully never again if he allows the players a little more freedom. Then as you say the formation need not be negative. Bah!
I agree what you say about the formation Kemp, not on this website but elsewhere I see my fair share of tactical ignorance from our fans, they are stuck in the past in regards to wanting 4-4-2 big man/Little man combination up front, nippy wingers and box to box midfielders it's all a bit too 1996 for my liking. The only hold up I have about the teams CH pick is that we lack gifted passers of the ball, perhaps with Fer that will change but we'll see how the season progresses. Last season we were very sloppy in possession and gave the ball away cheaply, if we improve on that and keep the ball on deck then I'n happy.
As far as pre-season goes it is a fitness and training camp for current and new players to bond and gel. Yes the team and the supporters would love us to win all our games and some fans see losing to an MLS league team as a bad thing in stark reality it was just a friendly with a team half way through their domestic season, Norwich on the other hand have just had 4 or 5 weeks off and if any of you go to the gym or do sport regularly you will know how even a few weeks away on holiday kills your fitness levels. Also if memory serves me correct the one season we won all our pre-season games and everyone was on a high was the year we got relegated. Norwich move on to Portland on Wednesday, win lose or draw I don't care as long as we have no injuries and the team build fitness and understanding of each others game. OTBC
It's quite annoying that we are having this kind of discussion and the season hasn't' even started yet. Why do some fans have to be so negative, we lose one little unimportant friendly at the start of the season and all the glass half empty whingers come out of the woodwork. Give the lads and manager a chance ffs, the season hasn't even started! I dare say if we are in the top ten in Jan the same people will still be moaning, some people are never happy.
We all want what's best for the club, we all have our own ideas and opinions about how things should be run, ways to improve and how to work with current crop of players. I don't see it as a negative thing and think its good that we have diverse range of opinions on here, it's unfortunate that sometimes people take it personally, but that's life.
i agree and i agree with northants too. the problem is, some people are negative about everything, no matter what happens. nothing wrong with being critical if you can also be positive too, especially if there is way more positive stuff happening, outweighing by a considerable distance the negative! it really, really, really grates after a while to read the same old miserable story when there is so much good going on around them
In regards to not changing the system/way we play and apologies if its already been covered, until we get another striker in we're kind of forced to stick with the 4-5-1 or 4-4-1-1 formations. Unless we play becchio and rvw for 90 minutes every friendly or push someone like hoolahan or redmond further forward than they prefer to play we're limited to one up top. If we're still playing ultra defensive and struggling to create chances when we get another striker in then I might question whether we'll see a change in tactics.
