not strictly from Manchester, but a big part of the Madchester scene at the time. From Oldham - Greater Manchester
Most of the East Coast of Northern England is actually an allegory for eternal suffering. It's not a real thing, it's more of an idea. A bit like the Roman conception of the underworld. When someone says they're "from Hull" or "from Grimsby", it's a bit like when someone japes "oh, we've been to hell and back today haha". In reality, the coast starts somewhere around Goole. Hope that is of help. Now if only we still had Yonner around to respond to the post above this one. I miss that guy.

It may be fashionable to dislike them, but a lot of their earlier stuff was pretty good. Personally I'd sooner listen to many other things these days, but they weren't bad at the time (93/94/95). The Fall have been sh*te for years too, but they did enough up to 1986 to be legends and Manchester's finest ever.
Ok then, here's an oldie by Oasis from 92. The Fame
If people are going to bump their gums about Oasis let's include a far superior mob eh lads?
Please accept my most humblest apologies for letting the thread degenerate. I can only put it down to a mixture of heat and alcohol and cant believe I did it. aye and the Roses are better. My sons learning to play 'My Star Will Shine' and he's sounding ok with it.
You started a Northern Soul thread on here - in my eyes that means you could put up the smurfs, Johhny Logan and Dire Starits and not have to apologise! Well maybe not the last one
