Most of the East Coast of Northern England is actually an allegory for eternal suffering. It's not a real thing, it's more of an idea. A bit like the Roman conception of the underworld. When someone says they're "from Hull" or "from Grimsby", it's a bit like when someone japes "oh, we've been to hell and back today haha". In reality, the coast starts somewhere around Goole. Hope that is of help.

It may be fashionable to dislike them, but a lot of their earlier stuff was pretty good. Personally I'd sooner listen to many other things these days, but they weren't bad at the time (93/94/95). The Fall have been sh*te for years too, but they did enough up to 1986 to be legends and Manchester's finest ever.
