Would you allow them to change the name of our city to 'Red Bull Leeds'? Of course you bloody wouldn't. A line needs to be drawn, and people need to start putting side before self, identity above materialism and money. Once they get going, these people don't stop disembowelling football clubs. They see them as marketing mines which they can rape and pillage without qualification. They even took pleasure in insulting the hardcore fans of Salzburg and others. They are an insidious force of evil, the very worst excess of capitalism. I am a footballing socialist like Bill Shankly, Billy Bremner and Don Revie that's why I oppose this horrendous suggestion.

It's like a question you ask a mates when drunk... but would you have a Red Bull logo tattooed in your forehead for 1/5 of what your assets amount to (Leeds are worth 40-50m allegedly, so 10m would be the equivalent of 50-100k to most people)? I don't think I would, even if it meant I could live comfortably forever. I'd still look a total vacuous plank, the kind of person who has no pride in themselves. It's not a good enough offer for the damage done.
Just returned from hols in Italy. Been well thanks, must shamefully admit that I've not been paying massive attention to Leeds as of about February so I'm still getting reacquainted with the dejection and misery of it all.

They'd replace the tertiary colours with red. That's what they do. They have absolutely no regard for any traditions of the past.
But you're not getting it... Red Bull will not stop at stadium naming. The club colours will be changed. The badge will have that horrible Red Bull logo added to it. We might still play in all white, but the trim will be red and dark blue, and we'll end up looking like MK Dons... oh guess what, they are a franchise too...
Any fans trying to associate with the old Leeds United, the one we know and love now, by doing anything such as wearing scarves, singing chants with "Leeds United" in the name, wearing Leeds United kits, will be ejected from the stadium and banned from attending. That is what they did to Salzburg. They cared very little for anything the club stood for and like Exodus said, took pleasure in mocking and insulting the fans of the pre existing club.
You're all rationalising it as ok on the basis that they would stop at renaming the stadium. They won't, they will consume this football club, destroy it, and replace it with their disgusting corporate tat.

If anyone's being an incorrigible clairvoyant, it's the herd who think Red Bull will suddenly stop trying to etch their wares into every crevice of the club's fibre. They've done it everywhere else, why should we be the exception?
We have absolutely no idea if Red Bull are going to be associated with us at all, far less in what capacity. There seems to be a pattern over the last few transfer windows of impeding good news throughout the window, only for it to fall apart or disappear when the window closes.
I am, without doubt, indelibly scarred by this systematic abuse of Leeds fans.
Well, we can certainly agree on that one. But I think the club-to-fan relationship has blossomed a lot more fecundly than over the last few summers. So at least if we're penniless, we know they're doing their best to use it constructively rather than developing vanity schemes and we finally have a non-divisive manager (for now).
We are now owned by the chaps that were willing and able to negotiate with Mr. Impossible himself.
If any deal is struck, let's hope they get it right.
If any association with red bull exists, it's a buy out, and they are only interested in one of the club's assets - the golden share.

I've got to say I agree with Marko and Exodus on this one. Why have they taken an intrest in us unless it's to buy us out. They can get sponsorship deals with any team in the world they would all welcome the money. Red Bull only sponsor their own football teams. No other team is sponsored by Red Bull.
The stadium has to remain as Elland Road or it's a kick in the face of the sporting history of the city. We're not the first professional sports team to use the Stadium.

What happens if they create a 'new' club does that mean our History be damned, the statue of Bremner get pulled down and anything to do with great former players and managers just evaporate? What happens if they just see the club as a franchise? They move to the club to another more wealthier/bigger city. It's happened before clubs have moved a 100 miles or so look a MK Dons they were Wimbledon.

Saying Red Bull can just have sponsorship is like saying 1930s Germany could just invade the Sudetenland. You can't appease these people away from their expansionism.
Would prefer to see Leeds United winning and playing attractive football in the premier league in the Red Bull stadium compared to mid table nothingness as we are at present. GFH might have enough cash to see us survive in this division but they certainly haven't the funds to bring the glory days back...
It is the way football is moving, move with the times or get lost and become a team that only has a history that will be forgotten as the next wave of youngsters come through who see supporting any team outside the premier league as unfashionable.
