I left Hull 28 yrs ago, and still say I'm going home, every time I return.

Won't have a bad word said about the place.

    Love it.

Would still live in Hull if it wasn't for following my Mrs around the country like a lap dog ;)

I've lived here 18 years and still refer to Hull as 'back home' or 'up home'.

I used to do a job working round Britain, Southern Ireland and the Channel Islands and have lost count of the times i've defended 'Ull in hotel bars and pubs. More times than not the other person hadn't even been here, sheer bloody ignorance.

Just wait until we are announced as capital of culture for the really snide comments from the Northern hating Daily Mail and the londoners who have never ventured above Birmingham. I would move back to Hull tomorrow if there was a job going for me.

Another ridiculous assertion about the Daily Mail. The people with the most contempt for the north are the effete Guardianistas. Admittedly only a handful buy the left wing rag but the BBC takes all its information from it.

Well, seeing it is written there I guess I did. Which makes your post rather silly.

I'm the editor of a national magazine. And it's not a "degree", it's a first class one that I worked very hard to get, even more so to get my Masterrs. Please don't undermine 5 years of hard work and if you'd studied the degree I did, you'd have seen it wasn't the "walk in the park" everybody makes media out to be.

If the mag you mention is not Viz then you wasted 5 years of your life.

Pffft, I'm only 25, it'll take years to work my way up to that. I'm thinking after this, I'll go to a games mag, then readers wives, razzle, escort, playboy, Viz and then finally, when I'm at the top of my game, Country Life.

I admire you're spirit, but sadly it only goes out to schools and colleges, as it's a careers magazine. Those of you without ankle tags might be able to nip in and grab one ;)

EDIT: And it's free, so no purchase necessary.

I've studied media, so it's interesting to see you've made it! Is that why you moved away?
