I think that he did ok with most managers, didn't he? He fell out with the West Ham fans after being racially abused by them. I wouldn't suggest that he'd be an amazing signing, but I think that we've got plenty of very skilful midfielders and we could do with a straight replacement for Palacios. We could spend the money that we'd get from Napoli on another part of the team.
Apparently NRC wants something stupid like £60,000 a week and that's why he's not accepted Villa's offer. I really hope we don't give a player of his calibre as much as we pay Modric.
Who's going to give him that much, though? Hopefully he'll become a little more realistic once the offers don't fly in!
Seriously? I doubt even West Ham would've paid that much per week to a player that couldn't get into the first team of any team who finished in the top half of the table.
It's a shame what happened to Palacios after his family tragedy. Can't blame the fella though, must have been horrible. But yeah, I find him to be cheap in losing possession and he simply isn't that good at kicking a football. That's striking or passing. I think with the emergence of Sandro (such an exciting player) as well as the quality of Huddlestone, it's probably best if Palacios moves on... As others have said though, doubt we'd recoup that 12 million we spent on him. :|
West Ham had the 6th biggest wages in the PL last season and have been paying big money to average players for years, hence why they are in financial trouble all the time.
