From the text highlights he had a couple of good efforts from distance.

Last night was about nothing more than fitness though!

He played and did OK, as did the rest of the squad of 19 available fit players.

By the way, I think it's just as well to get the spelling of Victor's name right, from the off. It's Wanyama. I'm being picky 'cause at first I spelt it the way you currently are. :)

I got really serious flack for saying I didn't like the use of stupid nicknames. Probably because I have had to live with a pretty stupid one all my life.

My name is surname is Godwin and all the boys at my school and my work mates called me Godders and it has stuck.

I bet they called you worse than that:emoticon-0116-evilg

What's wrong with Poch/Poche? No different to people saying Nige instead of Nigel, Punch instead of Puncheon etc

People don't shorten Nigel to Nige because they can't spell it. Poch sounds a bit patronising and lazy, as if you can't be arsed learning the man's full name.

Presumably it stuck because it fits. Or maybe your personality grew into the name.

I used to write short stories and you learn not to repeat words too much as it grates in a short piece of writing, so you will notice (if any of you pay attention) that I will use MP, Maurico and Poch if I need to repeat his name in a post.

I will refer to people exactly as I want to, and not how you tell me to.

Poch Poch Poch Poch Poch.
