So how much money would it raise?

If it would raise some money, why hasn't some other club already done it?

I'm talking about Liverpool, Arsenal, Man U, Chelsea which court the Asian market every pre season.

As has already been said, the average Asian thicko is a glory hunter whose idea of a great game is LFC beating Ferriby 13-0 .

They don't buy authentic replica shirts, they make and wear snides.

I actually thought Kamil Zayatte could have a decent future in the game.

Did we even get a fee for him? And how much were we paying him in wages?

Why would a minor name change scrap 109 years of history? Why would it damage our chances of generating income from other markets. And why would the club risk that?

Why on earth would Assem feel the need to make his mark any more then he already has?

Do you have some information that is denied the rest of us that suggests this is an Assem plot?

How much extra income would be generated?

Erm, the name change for business HAS happened. Even the Club admit that.

I doubt if it would have any effect at all in raising revenue. As I said in the post you replied to. That's why I doubt it will happen. I also don't agree with your comments about Asian fans. And I suspect they make "unauthorised" replica shirts because the "fans" over here buy them. Possibly because they also make the "real" replica shirts for pence, that we sell at an outrageous price.

And has that "scrapped" our history? Cost us any supporters or sponsors?

Or has it made no difference whatsoever?

It has caused a rift with supporters and the misleading statements are creating a mistrust of the Club set up. If you're looking for an imeadeate sweeping effect, you're missing the issue.

So what do you want the club to say? That there are no immediate plans to change the name?

There isn't one that I can see.

So I don't think it will happen.

When Hull got blitzed and so many buildings got destroyed or damaged, no doubt some thought "So what? Embrace change. They're only old buildings. Let's build some modern up to date ones."

And that's how we've ended up with so many **** buildings and people lamenting what we've lost.

If you've ever been to Ypres, you'll have seen that after it got literally flattened they rebuilt it all in the same old style as it was because they were proud of the medieval cloth hall, the market square etc and there was no round to say "That old cloth hall was a bit dull and old let's build summat modern like."

Pedigree and heritage, once gone , is gone forever.

Gosh, yes, you're right. I take back everything I said. This is just like Dresden on 13th February 1945. I can't believe I hadn't seen it before. Changing a word in the name of the football club will decimate the population of the city.

Still, at least Hiroshima is still ok................................................... isn't it?

Because for 109 years we've been Hull City, not Hull Tigers.

I'm afraid you'll have to direct that question at Assem.

I have been told by one of our major sponsors that Assem thinks that Hull Tigers is a better name than Hull City and his long term aim is to change it.

That's another crackpot idea then like 40,000 stadium with everyone paying a fiver, us playing at Welton etc

File under daft ideas destined to fail.
