Edit: Rather rooney stay at united tbh, will be fun to see how moyes handles the whole situation.

Who has said we'll have to pay £50m? It's just you thinking it.

Mata is worth far more than £30m especially if we're giving him to you, a title rival, just like you think with Rooney. <doh>

True, no Spaniards have ever ventured into the north of England. It's completely alien to them.

Remind me what you paid for Torres then ask yourself, I wonder if Manchester United know this.

The answer is yes, an the chances are we will want similar money for a superior player.

yes Mata is worth £30million, maybe a bit more but Rooney is worth more as he's got English tax on him. <ok>

Plus as I have just shown, poor rooney still brings more to the team per game.

Got to be honest, I would snatch their fecking hands off on this one.

Not Luiz, he's ****, but Mata and ten million is well worth saying yes to. We can then forget the Fabregas saga and maybe go for Fellaini and another striker to replace Rooney. That would be perfectly fine.

Fair enough, I didn't realise he'd ever given an interview in which he said "LET ME MAKE THIS 100% CLEAR, I WILL NEVER LIVE IN THE NORTH OF ENGLAND."

He might fancy winning the PL though which could change his mind.

His value is reduced by the fact that Moyes has revealed that Rooney isn't good enough to start. He may be a better player than Torres, but he isn't as good as the Torres that Chelsea thought they were getting.

    Oh really.

Please by all means show me where he has said Rooney isnt good enough to start.

Can we make this interesting, perhaps some rep incentive? <laugh>

He made it clear how much he LOVES London and couldn't play in a city he didn't enjoy.

I think Moyes has played a blinder. Rooney wants to leave. Fine, I doubt Moyes wants an unwilling player in his squad. He makes him fly out to Asia, has one training session then puts him back on the plane. That will have pissed Rooney off. He then refers to him as an understudy to RVP. That definitely pissed Rooney off! Rooney is now in a position where he has to hand in a transfer request to get his move which will mean he won't have his contract paid up by United. Alternatively if he doesn't hand in a transfer request the club can wait for an acceptable offer to move him on. Chelsea have already offered too much by putting £10million and Mata on the table and will no doubt go higher. If they don't then Rooney is by and large ****ed as where else has he got to go? I don't think he'll fancy Arsenal much.

Moyes and the club are in control of this deal. It's not like it was in 2010 when Rooney was our best player. I suspect Rooney will be screaming at Paul Stretford to get him the deal he wants and Stretford will be getting frustrated at United for not taking his calls.

No way not with them signing Falcao, Mata and £15 mill would get you Rooney and I think most of us would accept that, and I don't know why you think we haven't got a chance of signing Fabregas, more chance of that then Arsenal signing Rooney.

United have all the cards. Everyone else is going to have to bow down to United on this one.

So he didn't say he could never live in the north of England? Lots of people do and they like it. Even some foreign types. He could put in a quick call to RVP and ask him what he's made of life in Manchester compared to London. Maybe RVP would show him his PL medal?

Rooney is better than Mata in my oppionion and remember its them that want the deal not us. If we swap Rooney for Luiz I would certainly be throwing my toys out of the pram!

Then he won't be playing in the World Cup next summer (if England qualify) as he'll be fat and slow.
