I agree. But them "loopholes" are in the rules and deliberately so. They are paying what they are due. From time to time HMRC will come after some of these loopholes as we've seen in recent times and in the past, but don't expect anything major to change any time ever.
Aye, it's pretty bad timing. It's the MPs saying publicly that they're actually against it while privately they asked for it that gives you the boak. Think Filth but with me a politician
As a lefty I can still recognise the quandry in trying to tax corporations. With the global nature of markets now with the increased effectiveness and efficiency of logisitics and supply chain systems, the choice for coporations to locate has now lost a considerable amount of the emphasis on pure geographical considerations and is more and more based on pure economic metrics e.g. the lowest possible cost to the firm. Corporation tax levels are one of the major factors to consider in this case. A balancing act is required to be struck between getting the optimum level of tax from corporations within the country while trying to minimise any potential impact on income tax through the loss of jobs from the relocation of corporations. In this current increasing climate of anti-EU sentimentality Britons should pay heed to the extent to which the presence of Britain in the EU encourages the setting up of Corporate headquarters and production facilities in order to get around EU import tax. Britain should be wary of the potential losses that could be incurred from an exit from the EU.
Pud how many not 'fully-skilled' immigrants do we get in this country? Not from the EU, but from overseas? It's nearly nothing. Also, most immigrants leave after a while, and they work ****ty jobs no one in this country want to do. They pay taxes, work hard and are generally nicer/more interesting than the local population. They've recently discovered that they ****ed up the immigration/emigration numbers, so all the bullshit we've been fed means nothing. 'Mon the immigrants!!
And therein lies the problem with the benefits system! 10 cleaners in my office - not one a local! I lived in the Southside of Glasgow - 3 closed down businesses next to my flat rented out as "cafes" ... all catering for Africans. Day in day out - full to the brim with the same guys sitting about, drinkingcoffee and eating a "root" ... That's not an issue? You say "nearly nothing" ... I'd beg to differ. And maybe it is asmall percentage but why should it be allowed at all. A small problem is stilla problem. Got no skills/qualifications? Then no entry. Want to work here? Can you speak English? No, then no entry. Got no money in the bank? No, then no entry. As I said, I have no problem with immigrants that come here to work and fillskills gaps etc.

The issue is lazy/stupid kids, not immigrants coming here doing a job that needs doing. Send them all off to Somalia as a peace-keeping force People just have to get used to the idea that we live in a time where people will move for work (this is what Mick advocated), and it's not a question of benefits being too high, as kids on benefits will never buy a house/have a career/etc... Instead of cutting benefits, raising minimum wage would fix even more issues. We need to raise the earnings of the lowest earners, as this will fuel the economy and convince people they want to work. Some people in my company's branch in Oldham are paid peanuts, it shouldn't be allowed with the cost of living being this high.
So if I get this right. Those who hate benefits fraud don't mind tax fraud, as its loopholes they use. So tell me, what exactly is wrong with claiming EVERY little ****ing thing that you are entitled to? thems the rules. If a company can dodge tax with loopholes, why can't a benefit claimant get more money through loopholes?
The biggest problem on this thread, outwith the obvious wumming, is that it shows that people actually believe what the Government and their pals in the right wing press tell them on issues such as unemployment, poverty and immigration. It's pretty depressing when people are actually believing this ****e.
White British people have a birth rate of 1.4 per Female, so we're not replacing ourselves. Birth rates are dropping like a stone around the world (apart from Africa). Give it about 20 years when baby boomers are all well into retirement and we don't have enough young people paying into the National Insurance (ponzi) scheme to pay out the older generation. Every country in Europe will be clamouring for immigrants.
Canny fault the logic. There are loopholes in the benefits system (certainly in housing benefits particulalry when private landlords are involved - so fuddy tells me). Difference is, the Government is trying like **** to close them. They won't be changing tax law any time soon to close tax "loopholes" that would adversely affect big business.
That's the whole point though is it not? You scare people into believing that the one biggest problem in the country is paying out too much benefits. While everyones arguing over benefits you pass laws that give the rich more money (45p tax) Anyone with a brain knows the benefits system has its values and its problems, but to blame every little ****ing thing on benefits (Especially you ****s that keep saying "Aye but corporations use loopholes") is a ****ing shambles. Seems to me its **** that have never had to claim benefits that have the biggest issue with it. You got lucky after school with work, so ****. No everyone else has the same luck in finding solid employment. It's no even just claimants that take advantage of loopholes in the benefit system gambol. I've been ****ed over one too many times for housing benefits, which is why I gave up claiming it.
For the first time in a while I agree with you. It's not people that need reformed, it's the system that leaves loopholes open for people.
It's all bollocks really at the end of the day, we'll live and die. If some guy travel's all the way from some ****hole in Africa with only the clothes on his back, shoes on his feet with next to no English and some **** brought up here views him as competition to his job prospects then he needs to have a look at himself.
But you'll believe everything they tell you about possible conspiracies? You are a hypocrite. And you don't think The Left Wing press or the Centre would lie either. Shoddy work from yourself. I expected a bit better for a man with adequate intelligence.
Lazy/stupid kids - they deserve benefits ...why? As I said, I have no issue with immigrants coming to work ... and it's not the same issue I'm making re benefits and immigration.
