Oh yes he can and he will! I can see a scenario where Manure are the only team in England to make a bid, what is he to do, sit around and wait for a bid that does not materialise? I can see us declining the offer if he is offered to us, so that will leave just manure in the running.I I would not really be as upset as RvP leaving last season, as Fab is no longer our player. Did Viera not flirt with Manure?
Wenger does'nt do 'tactical' transfers. He would never sign a player to stop him going to a rival. (Mourinho/Ferguson - will do this) My main concern is that if Wenger feels we are strong enough in this area - he wont spend £25 Million on anyone - regardless of the talent. Lets just hope Wenger DOES want Fabregas back. (still I dont see Barca selling now Thiago has gone)
I just hope Barca say no. If Cesc really ends up moving to the Mancs, he proves that he's no better than Nasri, Adebayor et al, especially after the way he tried to get out of the club.
What terms did Cesc leave on? Good or bad. Cant imagine they were entirely peachy but not on the same level as some of your recent departures.
Never said a bad word against the club and was effusive in his praise of Wegner who he described as like a father. Recently he liked pictures of him in an Arsenal shirt from a fan urging him to return to Arsenal. He has said several times that he would only play for two clubs in his life Arsenal and Barcelona. Honestly, this one is deader than a brick for you guys. You can never say with 100% certainty, but I cant see us passing him up, even if the small chance that he will leave Barcelona comes up. So many mistruths in this story - he made 32 starts in the league =1st on the team, and 48 overall in all competitions, second= behind Valdez. There may be fans that may not like him but there is no indication that the manager doesn't like him and he isn't getting left out of the side that much.
Forget it's Cesc for a minute and ask yourself if we really need to spend £25m-£30m on that position. As much as I would love to see him back at the Emirates, I don't think buying him would be the smartest thing to do just now.
I will admit it's the position we are probably strongest in however. Fabregas is such a high calibre player he would be worth changing our system for. Even if he was the only player we signed our team would be pushed up a level by his arrival. Can you imagine Fabregas,Carzorla and a fully fit Wilshere all linking up?.. --------------------Sczezney-------------------- Sagna-----Merts--------Kos/Verm-----Monreal -------------Wilshere-----Arteta--------------- Walcott----------Fabregas------------Carzorla ------------------Striker(new?)----------------
As someone already alluded to, the middle of the pack is where we are really strong. I will not lose sleep were Fab to join to Manure. It is not like we awash with cash that we can go round splashing 25mill and upwards on stregthening in an area we are doing just fine. I would wish him well if he joins Manure. Just like I do not bear RvP any grudge (To be honest, I was hoping he would flop at Manure!).
As far as i'm concerned Fabregas is just another ex Arsenal player.I really couldn't give a **** what he does with his career
. I just read a Tweet where someone was comparing Fabregas to Liam Brady.Basically it mentioned how Arsenal fans hoped for years that Brady would return(I'll admit I did) and now the same is happening with Fabregas.
I think we should be hoping Fab signs for another club, any club. The money we get from him moving would help us pay for a player we really need like Suarez or Higuain. Head over heart.
I thought you already had £70m burning a hole in your pocket? You could buy both with that much, without the Fabregas to Utd windfall.
I think with the Fab money in the bank as well, we could afford to be a little more 'frivolous' and perhaps pay over the odds. Anyway, £70m isn't much of a war chest these days, especially when you are looking to buy 2 or 3 quality players in the hope of making a serious challenge for top honours.
I don't know about this middle of the pack stuff. I think he could play the Arteta role, or the CAM role. Cazorla can play either side in the front 3. This isn't going to suit the "beast DM" people, but in the system we are actually playing, he wouldn't look out of place. For 25M it seems a bit odd to pass him up, particularly with Arteta not having that many years left in him.
