Hopefully Hoopers agent isn't too money grabbing, can imagine QPR could offer 2/3x what we could on wages

Overpaid, knackered 34-year old on the way out or ambitious young striker looking to get into the England squad? I know which one my money is on for QPR to sign.

I think we may well end up signing two out of:
    Quagliarella,
    Hooper,
    Ashley Barnes.

For me the Hooper deal is a win/win for us. If he decides that he wants a shot at the Premiership and to put his goalscoring skills to the test in the top flight to try to give Roy Hodgson a nudge in a World Cup year then great, we've got ourselves a hungry and ambitious striker on our hands. However if he opts for koo pee arr then he will have clearly done it for financial reasons - as this would surely be the only advantage they have over us - which would say a lot about his character and wouldn't be the kind of player I would particularly want at the club, and therefore we can then set our sights on someone who is more interested proving themselves at the highest level rather than bumping up the bank balance.

Pretty sure the koo pee arr announcement will be Dunne though, think the Hooper situation might run on for a few more days yet

If their CEO had a sense of humour like McNally, that tweet might be immediately followed by "And our third signing is Gary ......." <ok>

No word on Hooper though, in this case no news is not good news!

err, no news is perfectly good news. the club won't inform us of celtic's decision yet. i very much doubt celtic have paid any attention at all to our ultimatum (if there was one). don't take these things too literally - all that will have happened is the two clubs will have got back around the negotiating table. that's all that will have happened

Sure but you would think some kind of rumour or snippet of info would be out there on the web. Even if to just say they are back around the negotiating table.

absolutely no chance. i wouldn't be surprised if the two clubs haven't even spoken today! <laugh>

it will have been norwich who have put the information out to the media last night as it's in their benefit to do so (no coincidence charlie wyatt got the story) so just be patient and watch the magic unfold. celtic know where we stand and mcnally will get it sorted for a deal which suits us first and foremost.

i guess a deal of around £5m including add ons will be struck. the only party who will come out of all this unhappy will be celtic. they either lose a player they want to keep now, or keep an unhappy player who wants to move and lose him for nothing next year. everything points to a deal being struck sooner rather than later.

You forget there is a transfer window in January supers. Celtic might prefer to keep him now and sell for less in January, by which time the CL qualifying and group stage will be over. If he has helped them into the knock-out stage by then, they will have gained more than they lost. <ok>

they gain nothing at all by waiting to sell in january though, which is why i never mentioned it. they've already said he isn't going to be playing in the european qualifying rounds so he is of no benefit to them at all. they realistically have two choices - sell now at the highest price they can get (which is what they will do) or lose him for nothing next season, putting up with an unhappy player in the process.

Qualifying rounds and group stage are two different things. But I agree the signs point to his leaving this window, and very likely within days. <ok>

Qpr can put in whatever bid they want, if Hooper wants EPL football he wont go there, its upto him.

I cant see Hooper wanting to go into the Championship, but I dont know him. If its all about money he will choose QPR. If its about ambition he will choose us.

Also I know he is from Essex or London so QPR may well appeal for that reason? Who knows, only Hooper.

You would need a bloody good reason to get involved in the car crash that is QPR. Its ruined and continues to ruin careers of anyone who has pulled the shirt on.
