I can see that point of view too, was my initial instinct.

There's pro's and con's to both obviously though.

If we bat and they take advantage of early cloud we could lose a couple of early cheap wickets. Then again, we could bat for two days and put on 500+.

The other side is put them in and take advantage of the early cloud. I don't think anyone expects them to do the two day bat thing but Clarke is the one. Get him and I genuinely believe they've got **** all else.

Definitely the cloud cover threw a different dimension but if we want to win The Ashes our batsmen have to deal with a bit of swing.

Bad call, even I know that with cloud cover they'd have been better off bowling in this session.


The cloud is forecast to clear and there's no green on the pitch so unless the first hour is horrific it should be ok.

We'll soon see. They allegedly have a decent attack, again we'll soon see, eh?
