Morning all!! I'll kick it off for ya Elland. Anyone tired of Murray Mania yet? Is he the new Man Utd? Slovenia tour starts - what do you want from it? For me it would be great to return with no injuries and some of the dross gone ... and Byram still a Leeds player. I know people say results don't matter, but McD is making a point by telling players every game is a must win when you play for a club like Leeds. The Crewe lads arrests not great, is it the influence of the arrogant Prem players on the lower league young 'uns that contributes to things like this happening? Have a great day!!
Good Morning - on Murray, well done to him, it has taken real grit to turn himself from a very good player into one at the very top of the game. But, I must admit, I wince when I hear everyone saying he should be knighted and Cameron slimes his way onto the same bandwagon. He should get that near the end of his career not as a prize for winning a single trophy, feels wrong to me I know I should know, but I don't - can anyone tell me the dates of the Slovenia fixtures? Whens the first one, anyway. What I like at the moment is the feeling that, not only will we be signing someone, but it will probably someone completely left field that no one had been predicting. That's a tribute to BM's scouting skill, I think (well it is provided they all turn out to be good )
Morning all Starting with Murray Mania. As a big tennis fan it does grate a little when all of a sudden the whole country is a tennis fan just because Murray won, despite the fact they'd probably struggle to tell you anything else useful about the sport. It will be like this for a while, and I feel sorry for Murray because of that. Next year the expectation will be immense and the usual British media machine will do it's thing and heap an unreal amount of pressure on him. He didn't have to deal with that at the start of this Wimbledon, because although he's much improved this year, the majority of people still thought it was a long shot (until Federer and Nadal were knocked out freakishly early). It's exactly the same as what happened with Bradley Wiggins (yep, cycling fan too!). He had 1 great season and all of a sudden he is a Sir and the expectation on him in the tour of Italy this year was ridiculous despite the fact he isn't the right kind of rider to go out there and win. Saying that Wiggins talks up his abilities an awful lot as well, thankfully Murray seems to be much more levelheaded on the whole. Ok, end of that rant Slovenia tour, I agree with you really Billy. No injuries, keep Byram, and hopefully clear out some of the deadweights. It'd be good for the lads to get wins under their belts against pro teams and it can only help their confidence. Thinking about the squad size, and as bloated as it is at the minute in some areas, at least we have some clear competition for places now. Particularly upfront., and by that I mean quality competition, not Varney trying to put pressure on Ross for his place for example. That should help to keep players sharp and focused.
Nah, Murray isn't that bad, he's more like a 2003/04 Arsenal side than a Man Utd. Sure players like Tim Henman cumulatively got much more spotlight over the years for a whole lot less. On what I'd like the squad to get out of the pre-season tour - hopefully the squad bond well and come back working as a unit. Everything else, even the odd injury (which is always bound to happen) can be worked around if the foundations are strong. Haven't heard much about the Crewe arrests. If found guilty and convicted, I hope they're fired - like anyone would be (you'd hope!) in any other job. Same should happen in the Premier League too. Do players have terms in their contracts regarding personal conduct etc? If they don't they really should have!
Morning all I watched the Murray thing last night and it changed my view of him slightly. Great that he won, sad that Salmond did the flag stunt and now Scotland want him instead of him being British. Slovenia tour like everyone else, come home safe boys and fit as hell with a great unity. The Crewe boys can rot if they did it and that numpty Nile Ranger was also charged yesterday for a rape in a geordie hotel last January. About time these footballers realised that they are not film stars or bullet proof and need to act sensible when all around have no money, so hate to see them throwing it around. Just because a blonde bird accepts a drink doesn't mean she's up for a gangbang. Yes we all know of birds who will do anything for cash and getting famous for 5-minutes, but some of these players need sorting out as its every month or so now.
Morning all Kissa, my mate just got one of these, ****ing fantastic. please log in to view this image
Morning All, Murray? Am I the only person who didn't even watch the tennis? Good for the lad, but I don't really care too much. Oh, and Doc, we're not claiming him as Scottish - he always has been. We look after our own. It's the press that have generated this Scottish/British thing. Slovenia? I simply hope that BM meet all of his objectives, whatever they are. Would like to see another wonderkid break through a la Byram, but how often does that happen? Rapists? If guilty, let the long termers have fun with these pretty boys in the jug. Then they'll realise what they've done!
Bucks cannot see the picture? Anyway I've just read what BMD has had to say about the new players and want some opinions on Smith. Smith according to BMD is awesome, great with both feet, strong and direct and obviously does well in the air. Brian has been scouting this kid for a long time and recognises something. So I'm happy that he's happy, but I've only seen him score against both scouse sides, what was he like at Farsley close up, as I read he was garbage? Murphy not really fit (As he been out injured) he will be built up slowly over the next couple of weeks as he's nowhere near ready yet. Hall stayed home because his wife is pupping, so is he been given a chance or is he another Warnock crap signing?
Morning Doc What I heard on the audio is Smith had good movement, dominated in the air & he lobbed the keeper only to hit the bar. I thought he sounded great, albeit against Farsley Simon posted a link earlier in the week. Its below if you havent seen it
I still can't see the picture what is it? My mate raced a porsche 911 turbo s the other day in his astra and blitzed it haha then the porsche caught him up started beeping him to race again and he blitzed him again lol 60K car v 10k car
Will somebody go on the Leicester forum on my behalf and tease them about this: http://www.sportsdirectnews.com/football-league/27873-bolton-s-beckford-bid-hits-hurdle.php I got banned for trolling a long, long time ago.
Afternoon all. Not Leeds United related, but sad to see the state of Gazza. There is only going to be one out come with this sad story.
Mental cars mate extremely powerful (why police use them) love chewing tyres though. get him to join VXROnline
Afternoon All Don't worry Jock I didn't watch the Wimbledon final, I had more important things to do like sitting around doing nothing and then playing with a Nerf Gun. As for the Crewe boys they should be sent down for a very long time if they are found guilty. This happens so much in football it's getting ridiculous. Does any one remember when Jody Morris was arrested on sex charges when he was with us? Regarding Gazza, what a great tragedy to such a brilliant talent. It's will be a very sad day in football when he dies. As for the Slovenia tour, I'll be happy a nice set of victories.
Sad about Gazza, but no one, least of all his close friends have sat him down and told him either to carry on drinking so he'll kill himself, or find out what else he would like to do. At the moment, he clearly hasn't got anything else in his life, save maybe a few now hazy memories. Real shame, but not a lot anyone can do until he decides he wants to do something else. Maybe time in jail in solitary confinement might help him to focus on something more positve.
I heard something about Murray saying early on in his career that he played for Scotland, not Britain - whether that's true or not I don't know, can't really be bothered to research it! I like tennis but I have favourite players rather than following the countries I should
