He played in the past on the RB position but at Twente they put him in front of the defence whilst playing with three defenders. Ronnie Stam just isn't that great as a defender. Rather appalling in fact, he is slow and mentally not capable to be a rock solid defender for 90 minutes. Much more suitable as a DM/CM or RM as his technique and vision are decent. Decent that is, not good.

Well, someone has to break the news, and I for one don't like to sugar-coat things. Just giving it to you straight.

Erm...wasn't he decidedly average and helped get Wigan relegated last year?.....I'm all for giving him a go if he signs, but can't say I'd be excited about this....

SSN said this morning, deal done and comming on a free, with Tiendalli leaving I thought we would get cover. I know we have Jazz but not convinced ML likes him YET.

I suppose at cover and on a free worth a punt. Cant see him getting to much game time though. Lets hope Rangel stays fit.

True...but also takes up a non-uk over 21 spot in the squad....would rather have taken a punt on young champ/league 1 brit who probably wouldn't command as much in wages...Also means Obeng is obviously out (or at least going on loan) - never had much of a runout...even in reserves...

NS, not saying he is the answer and would have prefered british if possible. I would suggest there is no issue with our numbers of british in the 25 otherwise surely we wouldnt have signed him. Agreed Obeng must be on his way out and also will this see jazz out on loan again.

It's back to how players fit into a system isn't it ? Dwight was given loads of stick by a load of Dutch guys I was speaking to in January but he did well with us and became an international!

Leon britton was **** at Sheffield united! But amazing for us in a higher division!
Scott Sinclair was average everywhere especially at wigan but great for us.

I guess you know what I'm saying,we won't know anything about this boy until he gets a chance to play in our system and show us his talent...or lack of ;)

Nice to get a view point though <ok>
