    4pm Sandown

    Mandour 11/4

I think this has an outstanding chance. I've donned the punting pants and double barrelled braces for this one.

Anyone have anything for Beverley in particular? I looked but nothing took my fancy.

Mandour is the popular selection and could well run out an easy winner. But, I would prefer to have a little ew on Sri Putra 11/1 and David Livingston 14/1. (Both BV)

I think 9.15 Haydock Velox 3/1 looks on a very lenient handicap mark of 83 and up in trip he could be miles too good for this field.

At Beverley. Not particularly inspiring but I'll have a go

    18.30. Wouldn't touch with a barge pole
    19.00. Ditto
19.30. Shadowtime and Rex Romanorum are market movers which should enable a decent price for Altharoos, currently 5/2 with PP
20.00. El Molino Blanco ew 6/1
    20.30. Bondi Beach Boy 9/2
    21.00. ????????

i am going to have a small punt on Forget Me Not Lane in the 7 45 at Haddock tomorrow eve, this is a seriously progressive animal, who has not hit his stride yet, but third run back at the right trip and ground , g,lee in the driving seat, we could see the resumption of last summers progress, stable starting to kick on with their handicappers as well--so at the likely odds he rates a decent chance....just my opinion of course....

The presence of FORGET ME NOT LANE is the only thing stopping me from putting one up in this race.
    (cracking winner today btw)

The first at Sandown is a very competitive race in which I actually have 3 that I could happily take a punt on. The one that interests me the most however is Joe Packet.

    Sandown 2.20
    Joe Packet 10-1

This horse has not won since August 2011, when he won that day he raced off of a mark 0f 91 and Jim Crowley rode him. Since then he's had a real difficult time getting his mark down and due to some good efforts in defeat actually rose to 104. Out of 15 races since his last win he has contested 12 at handicaps grade 1 or 2 and three times at that which he won at before which was grade 3, he has also had 12 different jockeys in those 15 races.

Tomorrow he races of of 91 for the first time since, it is once again a grade 3 and once again Jim Crowley takes the ride.

Katie Walsh's comments are hilarious. Banned for failing to attempt to obtain the best possible finishing position and her defence was that she rode to instructions.

Oh Katie. You little minx. First rule of jockey club. Don't get caught cheating. Second rule of jockey club. Don't admit to cheating.

bluesky, i am with you on joe packet for those exact same reasons-- grade ,draw and the top class jim crowley in the saddle--really hope he wins today !!--and Stick, that race at haddock is very competitive, however horses that finished behind my selection LTO have come out and won, so the form is strong-- and the trip is going to help no end.....good luck alll ...

Pollywollyldoodle 9/1e/w Wexford 5:10 - Heading in the right direction lately finishing a decent 4th in Killarney before improving for a step up in trip at Listowel to finish 2nd on her penultimate start. Tried over 3 miles in a recent maiden hurdle at this track LTO and was cruising around the top of the course and improving to mount what looked a serious challenge before being brought down unluckily by Mr Groocock who fell just in front of her. Back in trip today I think she can definatly make the places, it will prove tough to beat the favourite Cailin Annamh but, if theres a good strong pace I think we she will be in with a very good shout here.

Ciarans Oscar 2/1 Wexford 5:40 - Ran in the same maiden hurdle as Pollywollydoodle at Wexford last time and was only just nabbed on the line having made all the running that day over 3 mile, taking a drop back to 2m 4f today will suit and should see him make another bold show and this time Davy Russell takes over from Michael Doran which is a huge positive. Ground conditions are identical to his run last time here and I'm hopeful he can run this from the front and win.

Joe Packet the one for me too, dropped 4 pound since running 3rd to Harrison George and Dick Bos on ground that was probably softer than ideal, ive been waiting for him and his turn is not far away.

Reminds me of Ever Decreasing Circles - Hilda and Howard called their spare bedroom the polly Wolly Doodle room <laugh>

Might have to have a sentimental bet for the hell of it!
