I remember when they had a People's Sunday in 1997 the LTA were sternly wagging their finger at the crowd being utterly obnoxious throughout Henman's match - now the crowds are obnoxious in every Murray match, and they just shrug. I switched over to the Janowicz/Kubot match...just in time for Janowicz to threaten physical violence on his opponent for making a (correct) line call.

That's the problem with that new generation of player. Janowicz, Tomic etc. As for the crowd, your 100% right. British media would be going nuts if say... Murray were playing in Tomic in the QF of the Aussie Open and the crowd behaved in that manner. They were up in arms during the 6 nations when the Irish displayed lack of etiquette/

Lisicki winning the Women's and Del Potro/Djokovic winning the Men's would be a victory for tennis. Murray/Radwanska wins would kill off Wimbledon as a relevant slam.

Massive overreaction. Sorry, but it is. Wimbledon is like 130years old and the most famous and highly regarded of the Slams. Ronald Mcdonald could win it 1 year and it wouldn't kill it off as relevant

Out of interest, what is the main difference between Murray and Djokovic that leads you to such a view. They have very similar games, especially as Murray has added more aggression to his game.

Djokovic is a slightly better player, can't see any real difference other than that.

BTW Lisicki is loathed in the womens game. Utter drama queen who manipulates situations to get her own way. Not the smiley player she presents herself as.

    What are you on about?

He beat a limited player, ranked no.54 in the world, who played very well on the day. Murray is ranked no.2, consistently gets to semi-finals and beyond in Grand Slams, has a decent record v Djokovic (1-2 in two GS finals, all on hard courts) and is unbeaten on grass in around 15 matches (only Federer beaten him - in last year's final- in last 22).

The facts don't back you up, do they?

The Williams brothers pretty much killed off the women's draw (heck, the women's game) for several years.

Djokovic takes the initiative in games and is more aggressive. He has a good defence, but doesn't base his entire game around it like Murray does.

Lisicki/Bartoli/Flipkens would all be worthy winners, but Lisicki has had the tougher run by a considerable distance.

Verdasco a limited player? You clearly don't follow tennis.

But if Murray beats him, then he used the best tactics (I don't think he will by the way). Since Lendl has been coaching him, he is definitely more aggressive and a more formidable player because of it. Taking Federer apart at the Olympics (and Djokovic) showed how far he has come.

DL why do you come on to the spurs board to talk about tennis?

Is it because you don't want to risk falling out with your own board as a result of your ridiculous assertions?

He just enjoys talking like a James Hunt and watching the reaction...seems to be making a career for himself at it.

Being aggressive is the only way he'll overcome Djokovic. Pushing won't work against players of that calibre or hard hitters.

It was the topic of discussion.

There's already a thread on our board about it.

He's 29, never been beyond a Grand Slam Q-F, he's currently ranked 54th, he relies heavily on a powerful forehand and his left-handed serve. I'd call that limited when you're comparing him to the world no.2 and six times Grand Slam finalist.

And a very good discussion till you turn up to de-rail it, seeing as we now know you have a designated thread on the subject, we are all well aware where to find you if we so wish to listen to your ****.

This is an official mod friendly ask for you to not comment about it on here as nobody, and I repeat nobody, is interested in your views. All replies to you are wasting space in amongst decent conversation.

He's beaten Murray in a slam before and took Nadal to 5 sets on his way to winning the AU. A former top 6 player. Can't judge a player by rank alone, especially when you have vultures like Ferrer - who has never won a GS and isn't a better player Nadal (4), Federer (5), Berdych (6), Tsonga (7) or Del Potro (8).
