Interesting read, giving you a great insight into the youth players, their abilities and hopes for the upcoming season. Goalkeepers/Defenders: http://thesaintshub.com/201213youthreport.html Midfielders/Strikers: http://thesaintshub.com/201213youthreport2.html
Good read, seems to confirm what most of us know, that Stephens, Turnbull, Rowe and Seager are the best prospects, but there are a few others who could make the step up too. Should be interesting to see how the new boys get on and who else stakes a claim to join that list of potential first-team players during the coming season.
I have heard good things about Targett and Sinclair too, only seen a handful of youth matches though (in a neutral capacity...) so who is ready for the first team is a debate others can have. For the younger ones like Seager, a full year in the U21s is due before we get too far ahead of ourselves, I believe.
Yes I was wondering where Calum was. Otherwise a very interesting read. Exciting too, when you think how many of these lads might break through in cup games in the next couple of years.
Oh yeah, how odd! I should have mentioned Targett in my list also As I said there are a few others pushing for inclusion in that too.
Also Stephens hardly plays in defence now, he's another who's been 'converted' and now plays a defensive modfield role. He basically reminds me of a very young Cork.
I've seen this mentioned before but I'm not sure, according to this he played 4 times in midfield in 23 appearances for the U21s, and he played in defence for the last 8 games of the season, so I'm not sure there's that much evidence to suggest he's been converted into a midfielder.
Was nearer the end of the season when he started in defensive mid. I'm sure he played more then just 12 games as well. Guess we will see if he remains in the DM role.
Wasn't Chambers moved back to RB as well. Interesting to see if we sign another right back or just use Cork/Yoshida and Chambers as back up.
Yep, that's what I have been saying. Chambers was called up to the main squad a few times so maybe Pochettino has seen something he likes?
I think it's good that young players are being forced into 2/3 different positions. Will help their overall game.
I remember earlier in the season when McQueen was banging them in for fun. Didn't know he'd had some problems with injury later on. Next Rickie perhaps
Just saw that. I'm ashamed to say that I can't recall ever see him play. Can anyone help with a resume?
