I doubt any championship club can realistically afford 8 mill even without ffp in the way. It's absolutely laughable, they have one good season on the back of exploiting a loophole and suddenly think they are one of the big boys. I expect normal service to resume and for them to be mid table or relegation fodder

We offered 9M for Nicky Maynard, 8M for Shane Long, 6.5M for Nikica Jelavic

Luckily for us everything turned out well in the end <whistle>
 
I've also seen the reports that you're having to sell to buy this summer. The big spending is over after it didn't work the first couple of times.

No club in the championship can afford Sam Byram, ffp or not.

Crewe sold 2 players last season,1 to Man u £6,000,000 AND 1 TO Aston villa £2,000,000.Powel got a prem champions medal and Westwood got young player of the season at Villa.These young lads are quality young players from probably the best academy in British football.I know a bit about this lad being local.Hes also won more cups at Wembley than millwall have in there whole history.Skip the pudding but might have some.<bubbly> after we beat millwall.<whistle>

We dont need to sell as we have proven already turning down bids for Kasper Schmeichel and Wes Morgan. None of our best players will leave

But in order to buy we need to shift deadwood

Jermaine Beckford, Neil Danns, Sean St. Ledger,Richie Wellens,Paul Gallagher,Martyn Waghorn and Danny Drinkwater have all been told they can leave

Beckford is signing for Bolton today for 1M

But as you can guess the wages they are on are massive. Minus Waghorn and Drinkwater the rest of them are on about 20K a week
 
Well yes, not saying you're skint, just that the wild spending sprees without a care can't continue and therefore you like every other club in the championship can't afford Sam Byram.

The original point is that some of Watford's fans are relatively convinced they are signing Sam Byram, despite not being able to afford his transfer fee, and being a backwards move for such a talent.

We have the cash its more we cant spend it rather then we dont have it. QPR are 12M richer after selling Samba back

Anyway stop all the speculation. We all know Byram will be a Norwich player within the next 12 months
