Chris Young ‏@YoungSunEcho 23m Interesting, just spoke with an Italian-based agent, who mentioned Sunderland's impending move for ex-Torino scout Antonio D'Ottavio #SAFC Chris Young ‏@YoungSunEcho 23m Says D'Ottavio is regarded as one of the best talent spotters in Italy and says it will be a "very good" addition #SAFC As far as im aware we now have 2 scoutsâ¦the inter milan chap and this lad⦠They choosing carefully or is there scouts employed by us not yet came to knowledge?
Think we'll get a few more yet like. Looks the real deal this new look recruitment setup. Far cry from the part time setup from last season and before.
i would like to see a few more added with specific knowledge. if we had a soth american guy and one who has knowledge of say africa we could have our fingers in a number fo different pies and get the best talent from around the world
Generally one based in different regions would be an idea if you ask me one/two in south america three/four in africa and europe etc
And if we set up training camps in each of the continents for the kids. Think that's what the link with the african clubs is all about.
Do we have scouts who taking in the lower leagues in this country? When was the last time we signed someone from the lower leagues apart from the new lad.
this new setup seems to be very professional and a far cry from the last few seasons, im still not certain about pdc but angeloni will be a sure success in my opinion, when i say not sure about pdc i mean his prem experience but we had that with mon and steve bruce and it did'nt work too good and nothing could be worse than last season (except relegation) so he cant do any worse , anyway i have faith in ellis short to rectify matters if its going wrong again.
Di Canio is a very good footballing person. The talent and work ethic the guy had is what's lacking with todays so-called professionals. Sure, he will make mistakes, he is still very inexperienced with management at the highest level, but at the same time, he will work his ass off to make sure he learns. Everyone starts somewhere, but he strikes me as a guy who wants to succeed, and has the drive for it. This year might be a bit shaky with some decisions, but he will become very good. Mark my words.
Having Premier league management experience can be over rated....take Mark Hughes, thank heavens Ellis didn't go down that route.
