I reckon CMS is off to Norwich, they wanted him earlier in the season and i think they are the most likely to take a punt on him.

What do you reckon we are gonna do with puncheon? do you think he is off to blackpool permenantly or do you think he'll be happier now we are in the championship, cant see a PL team coming in for him now Blackpool arent there...

Don't want to get my hopes up too much about Jack Cork, but would be delighted if we signed him. The figure which seems to be being touted is around 750,000 - which is what we're rumoured to be after for Puncheon. If both of those happen, that is great business imo.

Michael Owen signs to play in Red (but not white). His signing with ManUre disappoints me only because it means the rumour mill about him and SFC is dead. I wanted that to last as long as possible. :)

You have to remember you may have half a dozen of those players nearly ready but how many of them are likely to be given a chance?

According to the Lancashire Telegraph, both Saints and the Tangerines have had a 750k bid accepted by Chelsea for JC. I for one would welcome him back. Thought he was brilliant a few years ago and exactly what we need in CM next year.

If these were his only options I would hazard a guess that he would choose Saints over Blackpool for a number of reasons:

1. We are likely to make a quicker return to the Premier League
2. He has played for Saints and under Adkins before at Scunny
3. We will pay higher wages
4. Who would want to go to Blackpool, honestly? - OK that one was more subjective.

Of course Burnley who have just had him on loan and no doubt a few lower end Prem clubs will be interested so we shall see... If the accepted bid is factual this is very good news.

Thoughts?

Thoughts are being shared in the transfer rumours thread.. either way, as good a signing as it would be, he'll be going to Swansea most probably.

Wouldn't blame him for jumping us at that time.

The situation now is poles apart

Between us and Watford, but not between us and Brendan Rodgers. Cork would have to decide, am I gonna take a season in the Prem with a side that will probably go back down with Brendan Rodgers, a man I know and get on with very well, or am I gonna go back to the Championship, with Nigel Adkins who I have also worked under.

Thought Jack Cork played centre-half when we had him on loan, and he went back because he did not feel wanted at SAINTS. Could be wrong though.

We do have some youngsters in that boat. Youth games are a pretty low key affairs and we only have a few quite sketchy reports about how good they actually are. Also there's the gulf between youth football and first team football.

I imagine Adkins has an idea who can step up and he may include them in pre-season preparations.

Ah apologies, got a bit carried away and couldn't really be fecked to trawl through the rumours thread today. If Swansea get a bid accepted of course he will go that way. Frenchvic you're right, seem to remember we had him at CB but I also remember him playing CM. Don't remember us not wanting him rather that Chelsea didn't want any extension to the loan spell. Fingers crossed we're prepared to pay than a few other clubs he might prefer to go to...

He has made a lot of friends though at Burnley that might persuade him to stay there.

Apparently he is already keen to stay on at Burnley as he has enjoyed his time there. Obviously this was quoted from him before the accepted offers today. Watch this space...

The official reason, he said in an interview, was he got on with Brendan Rodgers from his Chelsea days so wanted to join him at Watford. Whether there was more to it than that, I don't know. But he was certainly welcome by the fans!

I would love Jack Cork to sign for us, he is obviously a lot more experienced now, with four seasons of Championship football under his belt. It would almost be like signing two players as he is competant at Centre Back as well. Interesting to read in the same article that Darren Pratley is available on a Bosman free tranfer, he would be a good addition as a goal scoring midfielder.

Pascal Chimbonda was released by QPR. Perhaps have a go for him seeing as our right-backs aren't the best and i remember him being quite sought after when he was in the premiership.
