"Most exciting player since Trevor Francis" wow! I think this is a major coup if proved true and yet another player picks city over swans!
NotConfirmed by Birmingham official twitter account @BcfcDotComm: All here @bcfcdotcomm send our best wishes to Nathan Redmond on his move to one of England's best clubs norwich city #YouMadeItSon #BCFC Actually I got ahead if myself there, this is a fan account.
Here it is in the Birmingham Mail: http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/spo...birmingham-city-winger-nathan-redmond-4800673
I think he may get more games with us too, which in a world cup year is crucial. I was chatting to a mate at the weekend and we wondered if the world cup may be good for our us and players coming in as they want to be in a top league but also playing regularly.
It's gone very quiet on here. Are all the supermarket car parks being watched? Sky transfer news say that we have won the signature of Redmond. Could this mean the Pilks to Stoke, or any where else, rumour has got legs?
redmond is a left winger. he can play on the right but he's much better on the left - it's his natural position. he can play in behind the strikers too if need be. cracking young player and an excellent piece of business by the club. hooper to follow at some point... and carlo nash pilkington won't be sold though. the club don't sell their best players so unless its a ludicrous offer, what would be the point in selling? we'd be short of left-sided wingers again. we struggled when pilks was injured last year - hughton has addressed this weakness now.
Predominantly right footed, but as we know, Hughton loves his 'inverted wingers'. This from wiki. Some of that in a yellow shirt'll do for me
Do you mean Redmond is right footed? I think it's incorrect to say he is "right-sided". Transfermarkt give left midfield as his position, while elsewhere he is described as "typically playing as a wide midfielder. He is right-footed, but has regularly played on both right and left wings, often cutting inside. He has also occasionally played in the centre behind a lone striker". Given CH's liking for wide players who come inside and interchange with the central attackers, and who pose a goal threat coming inside onto their best foot (e.g. Snodgrass from the right), I expect Redmond to seriously challenge Pilkington for the wide left position. But clearly he is a versatile player, and we will have to wait and see.
Sod all to do with anything, but cricketer Jaik Mickleburgh has scored 65 not out against a virtually full strength England side in the Ashes warm up match versus Essex. Jaik is Norwich born, and a fervent canaries fan Good times, as Nile Rodgers said so brilliantly at Glastonbury. (Check out he set by Chic on iplayer, it was immense)
I won't believe the Redmond signing until the official statement from our club, but I'm excited about all these names linked with us.
just a matter of finalising the deal and completing a medical (which should be routine). we've been crying out for some pace and he's like lightning! very pleased with this deal if and when it's completed
I'm always a bit sceptical about possible signings until it's been confirmed lol But he will be a great signing, and with Wolfswinkel officially a NCFC today, things are looking very good. Don't think we will have a scoring problem this season coming up
i still think we are some way off in that respect. we require more drive from midfield and more creativity. we've added pace, we've added finishing, we've added technique in both instances too, but we really do need an attacking midfielder who can unlock defences AND score goals - that's where little wesley has struggled since reaching the top flight
I've always felt we had a good squad anyway, and I didn't think we needed too many signings. We've improved it already with those 2 signings, and I'm sure we will make 2 or 3 more.
