We seem to be looking abroad now, in particular in South America. I doubt we will be signing any players from lower leagues in England. That's not to say that there are no good players, it's just Cortese's lofty ambitions seem to overlook them.

We won't sign anyone like Adomah, maybe a few years ago but not now, we've progressed past that standard. He would be good on a promotion push from the Championship but not PL quality. Anyway, I doubt Pochettino has even heard of him.

Better than De Ridder, that's for sure.

I don't think that even is for sure to be honest. De Ridder terrorised championship full-backs too, after all, although his end-product is obviously questionable.

Comparing their stats for the 2011/12 championship season, De Ridder got 3 goals and 3 assists in 341 minutes (almost all of them as a substitute) and Adomah got 5 goals and 8 assists in 704 minutes (almost all of them as a starter), so Adomah is only marginally better, depending on how important you deem the starting factor.

Adomah's stats for the 12/13 season are better, but who knows what De Ridder's would be like given a second season in the championship? I think the only thing that is sure is that Adomah isn't better enough to consider him a worthwhile signing.

Still think we wil sign Bueno if not this week it will be after he returns from u20's.

If Wigan are going for Adomah then I guess they plan to ditch the old 3-5-2.

Apparently we have enquired about Giuliano Victor de Paula, a Brazilian midfielder who plays for Dnipro in Ukraine. Don't know much about him but he seems to fit the bill in terms of a Midfielder, South American and relatively young (23).
