    Hello to all. I was with BBC606 to the bitter end (mainly just for cricket as the Newcastle board was dead).

    I hope Bassong does not return. Obviously a bit of a cult hero with us when here. I also have no problem that he left as he was getting towards the French squad. However I was at a talk in with Barton at the Hilton Hotel about a month or two back, and I don't think he'd be welcomed with open arms! Him and Martins were supposedly a disgrace once we went down and showed a lack of respect for the club. Joey had to be pushed to get this out of him as at first he just said "one or two didn't want to be here, and were not bothering to try and being generally disrespectful to the club and the rest of the players" When someone from the audience said come on you said you were honest, he said "OK Martins and Bassong, them two are a f**king disgrace!" He wouldn't be drawn further on the subject.

    12.5m for Henderson, I'd snap their hands off!

    Reported Newcastle United target Cheick Diabate has put pen to paper on a new two-year contract extension at Bordeaux.

    The 23-year-old was thought to have caught the eye of the Premier League side after a string of strong performances in Ligue 1 this term.

    The Mali-born striker impressed in the club's youth team before being farmed out to AC Ajaccio and Nancy on loan in a bid to gain playing time.

    Now fully-installed with the first team, the French side have moved quickly to ensure the promising striker is tied up to a long-term deal.

    The news comes hot on the heels of a similar extension for goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso as FCGB move to sure up the future of a number of players.

    A club statement read: "FC Girondins de Bordeaux are pleased to announce the contract extension of Cheick Diabate.

    "The Mali international has signed for two more seasons. He is now under contract until 2015 with our club."

    Isn't he the BBC "journalist" who came onto the old 606 board when Hughton was sacked trying to "get our opinions" but ended up somehow coming to a conclusion that we all had higher expectations than Hughton etc and we wanted him gone? If it is him then he's a prize tool from what I remember
