Great finish. Lovely movement in the build up too. Barcelona look like they've got an absolute bargain.
If he improves from this level (which is possible, he's only 20) then yes, £50 million is a bargain. Its a lot, but buying a Bugatti Veyron for £500k is spending a lot of money, but it's still a bargain.
I don't think you can ever call £50m a bargain. Also it was the most obvious signing that could happen this summer, so it's hard to praise that business. You could've put my grandmother in charge of Barca and she'd have gone for Neymar too.
It's strange how one good tournament has changed the vocal public consensus from overrated and lightweight to superstar and £50m bargain. Perhaps it's just different people speaking up on him, but it's a dramatic change.
As am I. Obviously he's got the potential to be brilliant, but he was frustratingly inconsistent for Santos. You could say it's to be expected of someone his age, but still.
I'd never seen him play before this tournament. Joe I can understand you saying that £50 million isn't a bargain, but if he goes on to be worth £80 to £100 million then arguably it would be?
I think he's great and I did long before the tournament. His record at international level is unbelievable for a player that's game doesn't revolve around only goals. He's up to 24 goals now and it's only his 39th appearance. For me the international stage is what matters the most and he's already proven himself on it. 3-0!!!
