After seeing what the kit is due to look like I think I have changed my mind on last seasons home shirt. The white bits on the sleave look nasty and even worse on the long sleave one.
They will bring back "proper" red & white stripes next season & the club and adidas will be awash with words like "heritage" & "Tradition", all the stuff they have ditched for the last two seasons. It's funny really.
I liked last seasons, what I ment by stripes was the massive thick stripes. Last years pinstripes were nice, this seasons red with weird white squares isn't. My fave Saints kit was the sash, still hoping we bring that back one day.
Think someone should set up a customise your home kit place so that you can add your stripes and remove the gold.
I like it but don't love it. I don't particularly like the stripes at the top of the shirt but I like the gold and the white on the sleeves.
Yeah they do, but the colouring they chose makes it irrelevant because it matches with the main kit. please log in to view this image You can see the stripes don't go all the way down the sleeve, the block of blue is where we have our white sleeve stripe. So I suppose we could have done the same thing with a big block of red on the arm.
If the away kit is all black then presumably we'll have a 3rd kit as well. Which if you go by what clubs have done in the past, will more than likely be an all white affair.
Dont usually care what it looks like, but that is hideous, with all that tacky gold, we should have got Elizabeth Duke to be our sponsor !
I just showed it to my son, who loves it. But he supports arsenal. Stripes, Cortese, ffs. Southampton play in Red. And. White. Stripes.
This is terrible. I was OK with a lot of the mockups, ranging from indifference to quite liking them, but this (which we saw in the blurred photo) is awful imo. I was a pinstripe fan, and one of the few who preferred the away kit, and am pretty happy to adjust and get used to kits, as the identity becomes Saints throughout the season. This I know I will never like - it's plain, unspectacular, looks cheap, and could be any number of teams. Definitely won't be buying that, home or away (assuming the away kit keeps the same template). I don't even mind adidas stripes, though I was hoping for a Nike kit. In short, gutted.
Whatever we all think now I guarantee that at the first home game there will be thousands wearing it!
