Have we been linked with any strikers other than Osvaldo? We don't seem to have much of a range of rumours going on around transfer targets at the moment... :(

Is it just me or are the rumours all getting a bit tedious now. It is clear we have been talking to Wanyama and the snub is disappointing but not as disappopinting as bienig taken to the cleaners by agents so not unhappy with the outcome.

Some of these players we are being linked with are clearly top drawer but I can't be the only one disappointed by the lack of activity as regards English talent. Matt Phillips, Tom Ince, Scott Sinclair have all been linked in the past and would add quality to the squad undoubtedly. I'm sure there are others.

Nigel Adkins must be smiling to himself at Reading. He was moved on because he was not deemed suitable to attract big names to the club (one of several reasons i know) yet, Reading are not having trouble recruiting and look a good bet to bounce back next year.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with Pochettino but just a bit frustrated by the lack of top English talent to be linked with us.

Does it matter what nationality the players being linked with us are, really? I wouldn't want Phillips or Sinclair at that.

Don't know if it's old news, but Tevez said to have gone to Juve for 10 mill (i newspaper)

Yeah that's a hell of a deal from Juve's perspective.

Nigel Adkins must be smiling to himself at Reading. He was moved on because he was not deemed suitable to attract big names to the club (one of several reasons i know) yet, Reading are not having trouble recruiting and look a good bet to bounce back next year.

He's attracting players to get promotion to the premier league, just as he did for us. It was at the next level, trying to attract international stars to push us into the top half, that he was deemed unsuitable, and his success in recruiting for Reading does nothing to dispel that notion.

I'm delighted it's gone quiet to be honest. If there's no rumours, perhaps there's deals being negotiated with respectful clubs/agents/players who want to work with Saints, therefore not willing to upset the applecart - I think the Wanyama noise was being made because he wasn't coming to Saints, and therefore Agent Cockwomble had to make some racket to get other clubs interested.

Silence can, in this case, be golden.
