I still want him to stay, the way I see it is that he owes us another season and needs to play even better than last season, with some new signings and him in our attack he may be the difference between 5th and 4th.

Agreed Gonz, after the biting debacle and the support Luis has received throughout his
time with the club he bloody well does owe us.
You want to play for a 'big' club Luis (alledgedly),then help LFC get back into the Champions
league next season and take it from there.

Hell,it's only four years ago we were playing Real M. off the park at Anfield.(and winning in Spain)

The Anfield boss claims there is "no change" in the Uruguayan's situation and says the club are still in contact with the striker who is currently at the Confederations Cup
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is adamant that the club are in complete control of Luis Suarez's future.

The 26-year-old is currently at the Confederations Cup with Uruguay and has publicly voiced his desire to quit the Premier League this summer due to his negative portrayal in the British media.

Suarez, who has also claimed he is disturbed by Liverpool's failure to secure Champions League football, has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, but Rodgers says he is relaxed over the Uruguayan's demands.

“It’s quite simple. The club is in complete control of the situation," Rodgers told talkSPORT.

“For me there is no real change in it. He’s away with the Uruguay squad at the moment and we’re messaging and what not.

“I will always listen to players. I always work closely with players and listen to their point of view but the biggest word is with the club.

“Sometimes interviews get put out there and highlighted, but parts of Luis’ interviews have been about how much he loves Liverpool, but of course that doesn’t get highlighted.

“It’s something that happens. I’m quite relaxed about it.”

Rodgers reiterated that Suarez is a vital part of Liverpool's progression and believes the Uruguayan appreciates the backing from the club's supporters.

“What I know is that the support Luis has had from the people here in Liverpool, the city and the football club, has been phenomenal and I know he feels that and respects that," Rodgers said.

“We’re in a situation where we’ve got a player who we don’t want to lose.

"We’re trying to build something here and he’s a very important part of that and because of the type of player he is he will always give his best."

I'm looking forward to all this coming to an end when Suarez gets back, either way is fine as long as it's sorted.

This is nothing more than posturing by Liverpool imo, Suarez has made it plain that he wants out & has patently been tapped up.

This pantomime might have a month or 2 to run yet, but the ending was written a while back & all of the cast know it.....

maybe tobes,

but a few issues to resolve.

1. Luis will have to hand in a transfer request, will he? doubt it 2. the club don't have to sell, so can set the price, whether you think the price is realistic or not is irrelevant, he will go for whats best for us. 3. are we certain Real actually want him? 4. we win either way, maybe Real will include a player to sweeten the deal, if not we get good money to invest back into the squad, if he stays then we have a world class player. win win what ever the outcome for me.

rather he stayed, but the money we will get maybe could really push us for top 4, after all we will miss him for cant remember if its the first 6 or 8 games anyway.

i am not bothered either way anymore to be honest, thought about it and come to the conclusion we win either way.

I agree, either way is fine and we win either way as it will be much more than what we paid for him. My only concern is that if he goes it needs to get done quickly so that we can get a replacement.

13. Its six but if we get through the second round of the League Cup then he only misses four leagues matches.

It has been reported that Mancity made a bid of £35M for him:I doubt it if he would go to City even if they meet asking
price of £40M.Bidding war has started.<ok>

here's the thing.... suarez has ben quite specific about the english press so if he tries a city move fair enough but for city the price is more than cavani, not less.... simple.

is a bit odd that City would be biding for him considering he has a problem with the English press, so if true they have bid why do they feel he would go there?

city dont want to pay price quoted for Cavani so lets link Suarez and make a story out of it, that's more believable to me.

Been totally behind him so far, but if he goes to City that sort of negates the English press argument. that said, even playing for City he won't get the witchhunt and hysteria that the likes of lawton, Samuel, Holt and Barnes reserve exclusively for Liverpool ; indeed, if he went to United it would go into complete reverse and he'd become a media darling.

well if City give us the brother then we may be able to do a deal, him and £25 mill for Luis lol.

agree about leaving us suddenly its a dif opinion on our players, rival fans and the media are just as sad on that front.

It is going to be unwise of Suarez to go to City or any EPL club. He already created monster for himself<ok>
