    Really hope not, still feel he can do a job.

    He was trialled there as such for a few weeks, but the club see him as a CB going into the future from what I hear

    and past performance is not necessarily a guide to future performance. but you don't disregard patterns from the past unless the game changes.

    Quite a few of the top end scorers in eredivisie seem to have gone to belgium and not kept up their form, and the top scorers from Belgium seem to move on to better things. Perhaps that's a better place to look in general.

    How did Belgian footbal get so good lately and how did we get the crap belgian footballer?

    Football365 recently did a piece about goalscorers in the Dutch league. The basic point was that for every Ruud van Nistelrooy there seems to be at least one Afonso Alves.

    Carlos Bacca at Brugge looks good on youtube. anyone know if he's actually good?

    In eredivisie you really need to go back to suarez before you find anyone who has succeeded after moving.

    Afonso Alves was a fabulous player. It's a shame that it went pear shaped for him at Boro.

    Have to spread the net wide in order to catch anything. Pochettino remarked that the media jump to conclusions if you apply twice for clearance to look at a player...must admit I thought you just turned up incognito with an upturned mac collar.
