    Exactly what we need.

Although, you'd prefer someone with presence, strength, pace and aerial ability to play up top on his own rather than the poor-in-the-air Hooper - someone like Benteke or Drogba. BUT that would cost HUGE amounts of money and they probably wouldn't come here.

Yep, kind of player we've missed since outgrowing barnard and then Sharp.

He's not a wow signing but he could be a very effective one.

Is he capable of joining in with the passing game though? Sharp didn't get into it and wasn't really suited.

Very few of those out there, but Villa and West Brom both managed to get their hands on one last season. I can't really think of any that would be available, but then again I hadn't heard of Benteke this time last year, so you never know what our scouts could dig up.

My Celtic-supporting friend says he thinks Hooper would fit very well here - he also thinks Wanyama will be off, and hopes he comes to us.

we've not been all that great on set piece delivery or crossing. we play on the floor. if he's best receiving it to feet maybe that's for the best.

I've seen us play our fair share of long hits upfield.

unless we're getting crouchie back to chest the ball down and volley it, I don't think we're going to reap great dividends from that with anybody.

jay is decent in the air though.

Well he thinks Wanyama would settle in just fine in the Premier League, especially in a team like ours (which is why he hopes he comes here, along with the fact he likes Southampton through having grown up here etc etc). He also liked Hooiveld and felt he should have been given more of a chance, and loathed Danny Fox, so I think he knows his stuff.

reckon we could get him on a free if we fix a couple of things around the castle and feed the thing upstairs.

Haven't watched Bony play before, but his scoring record is pretty ridiculous. Based on one YouTube video, he looks the part.

Basically a Benteke but with even more strength. Watched him play a few times and he would suit our play easily.

People regularly score a goal a game in eredivisie having never done so before and never replicate it again. he might be the real deal but i'd be cautious.

Looks like he's got a better touch than Benteke as well. The thing that stood out to me most is how calm he looks all the time. That can only be a good thing.

If he's demonstrating strength in the netherlands where the midgets are 6ft though that's something good.
