Ruddy to Villa is pretty ridiculous. He'll be our main man to hold onto over the summer. Villa would have to give us most of the money they make from any Benteke deal to take him to the Midlands.

It's the same as the Weimann to us rumours, you're just left asking why? Villa could offer him slightly more wages, but the clubs prospects are roughly equal at the moment, and why move when you're settled and loved?

    Thanks CromerCanary!

I was going stir crazy at the lack of Football to watch so I thought I might as well get involved on here!

Ruddy has always struck me as a player that loves life in Norfolk, his family is very settled and he really enjoys playing for Norwich (Running the length of the pitch to celebrate infront of the Snake Pit after the Simo's third against Derby springs to mind). Can't see him moving on unless there is ridiculous money from one of the really top clubs.

Ironically, this just came on twitter and I'd be more concerned if the Gooners were linked with him.

I've got no concerns over ruddy leaving, last year when the rumours came up that he wanted to leave he went straight on twitter and said it was rubbish saying how much he liked norwich. Then next thing we hear he signs a 4 year deal with the option of a fifth year. If he leaves it'll have to be one hell of a tempting offer. I actually think he's better than all the popular not top team goalkeepers at the moment (Begovic and Mignolet). Luckily he seems to have dodged the attraction of the sky pundits who like to mention how good begovic and mignolet are at any opportunity when talking about stoke and sunderland.

Begovic, Mignolet and Cesar will defiantly help us old on to ruddy not just this year but in the next few. I can't see a big club needing a keeper after these 3 move for a season or two and as we grow as a club offers from Villa and the like become less of a concern.

Agreed. Very happy for him to get on doing a fantastic job at Norwich. Leave all the attention for the other mid-table teams.

Though it's been nice to have a player back in the England set up!

I'd imagine that David McNally will defiantly send any potential suitors away sharpish, tail between legs! :emoticon-0105-wink:

I have noticed many occasions where definitely has be wrongly written as defiantly! Makes me wonder if they meant to wrongly spell it as definately!

I think that Ruddy's injury may have saved a lot of the big club temptation.... for this year at least as people have an incredibly short memory when it comes to football!

One of my mates is a Gooner we discussed Ruddy yesterday, he reckons they'll go for Caesar due to the experience he offers.

Obviously, really don't want to see my hero leave. I've actually met him 'in the flesh' twice this year and had a quick chat to him on both occasions.

I can't see Ruddy leaving either. As for Cromer's released players, I wonder if Alex Pearce at CB and Nicky Shorey at LB might be considered options if City want to concentrate money on a striker and someone like Diego Capel in LM. I know Shorey is 32, but a one-year contract might be shrewd business.

Why would Villa want JR, or JR go to Villa? Brad Guzan was voted Villa Player of the Year, and is being offered an improved contract. Is he going to be second fiddle to JR, or JR second fiddle to Guzan? The whole thing is rubbish invented by some journalist who suddenly remembered that Paul Lambert signed JR and rates him. <ok>

Mirror are reporting that Southampton are also interested in Hooper, could be a few after him. Could have his pick!
Or we could do a time share maybe?

The longer time goes on, the more people will be aware of his reluctance to sign an extended contract for Celtic. Shame Hughton couldn't have put a down payment on him in January and sort out the finer points when everyone gets back from hols.
Otherwise every club bar the mega rich top 6 are going to be after him.
