Has a pre-contractual agreement with Bayern.

Bayern will not pay money for the player and haven't bid yet.
Lewandowski only wants Bayern, turned down a new deal at Dortmund,

Had Goetze not signed for Bayern, it's likely Lewandowski would already be a Bayern player.

That would be tapping up as clubs are only supposed to talk to players/agree these sort of deals 6 months before their contract expires.

You can't prove it if its verbal. If its written then its obvious tapping up, so it's just done indirectly. Since Ashley Cole no club has been that stupid.

And even then it's only foreign clubs you can have a pre contract with I believe. I can't understand how bayern could be due compensation from an unlawful agreement?!

That was my point, if it is a verbal agreement, then its just word of mouth and Bayern on paper cant be guaranteed any money whatsoever.

Thats like us telling Hulk to verbally agree to sign for us, nothing in writing, and then demanding money if he tries to move elsewhere.

I dont see how that is legal

I was to believe you have to have permission from the selling club to speak to their player/agent/representatives (which is why Cole meeting was illegal). And it is clear that Dortmund have not given it.

Anyway I dont know why we are messing around for, Cavanis mother had said we are his third choice and his father has said we are his second choice. i say thanks but no thanks, let him go to Madrid and bid 25m on Lewandowski

We already bid 40 something million for Cavani, we could not get a deal so lets not be held to ransom and go after another target.

Lewandowski turned down Real so it's unlikely he'd come to us. Has his heart set on Bayern and I don't see that changing.

Mourinho makes a big difference, hopefully he can persuade him otherwise I see him at Dortmund for another year like Llorente at Bilbao this year

Despite recent reports about Cavani's future, we are still the bookies favourites to sign him (evens with sky bet, Madrid 2/1). I guess we'll have to wait til after the confed cup before we really know anything?!
