Mata is surplus to requirements too. I'd have him in front of any of them. A real replacement for VDV with goals in him.

I'd take Torres and or Ba from Chelsea. Torres is still an amazing striker, he just needs to change clubs so he can get back to his best form. It's not really worked out for whatever reason, but he's not exactly been bad. We've all taken the mickey, but only because of the £50 mill fee. I saw the other day that Mata is supposedly surplus to requirements. That is beyond me. - Chelsea's best player last season without a shadow of a doubt. How can they possibly be thinking of getting rid?! LEVY!!! Oh wait....
I agree with you on Ba, I'd leave Torres alone personally. Mata would also be excellent, but I read somewhere that he might want to head back to his home country. I can see why Mourihno might not want Mata, similar to VDV who was also not wanted by Mourinho. Different system perhaps?
Mata is too much of a talent not to be playing every week though. if he was to go back to Spain, he'd face serious competition for game time at either Barca or Real, and if he goes to any of the other clubs in that league he won't win anything because there's such a difference between the top 2 and the rest. (Yes, we're talking about that really competitive league called La Liga, where there's loads of attractive "top clubs" for top players.... right, DL?! ) maybe AVB could convince him?

I would only take Mata,i don't think changing clubs will help Torres,that was the reason he joined Chelsea,and i don't think Ba is a top 4 striker,didn't exactly set the world alight at Chelsea
Ba wasn't given many chances at Chelsea, he's still better than anything we have. Mata is well out of our league, unless he decides he's desperate to play with Bale.
A bit too early to 2nd guess Mourinho yet, but no doubt a couple of good players will become available.
He plays football rather than spend the game cheating and haranguing the referee, so isn't the sort of player Mourinho wants.
Their seems to be some suggestion that Mourinho would prefer to bring in Sneijder and to replace Mata. I doubt there's any truth to it, as Chelsea were often ****e without the Spaniard pulling the strings last season.
We're now being linked with every Brazilian outside of Europe, for some reason. The ongoing Damiao saga has returned, we're supposedly watching Bernard, Paulinho's being tagged as a replacement for Parker and Levy's getting waxed tomorrow. Probably.
If Mourinho thinks Sneijder's going to runaround the PL like he did when they were both at Inter, he's got that wrong imo. I watched WS for Galatasary and I thought he looked leggy, half a yard slow, and generally a shadow of that player.
