Dimi's playing his first championship game for Hampshire this season. I'd say Hants have now got their strongest team. Tanvir is also in for Hants.

Briggs has been a bit disappointing but Dawson has done well so far. Mayber it's not a spinners wicket. I feel a bit for Bates had a great season last year and thought he could go on and maybe even get to International level. Then they bring in Wheater.

Having said that the conditions are perfect for seamers. Overcast, green wicket. Let's just say I'm glad Hants won the toss!

Not good enough with the bat. Cracking behind the stumps but his batting average was poor. We need a keeper who can bat.

Yes fair point although he did score a few. They badly neeed to win this if they have a genuine chance of getting up!

I see Superman on Saturday, could it actually be a good Superman film?

The way Yoshi has improved over the season maybe he could become our "Iron Man"

I sometimes take the reason that a player needs a period of games, even upto a season, to settle in as a bit of an excuse, but in the case of Yoshida he has definitely improved, most certainly after Pochettino arrived. In my opinion, he's gone from a player who you wondered slightly whether he was upto the task to someone who is one of the first names on the teamsheet. All he needs to do is improve his occasional wayward pass and then he'll be a rounded player who needs to get as good as he can over the coming years.

I wonder if he feels he has stepped up in quality since moving to Saints or whether he's generally the same player..? Personally, I think he's become a better player and not just settled in at Saints.
