Plenty of goalies around, not upset about this. Kasper isn't worth more than £2/3million.

Bolat would be a very very very good addition.

Agreed, we don't want to be held to ransom this early in the Summer. Bolat would be a quality addition, especially on a free. This will become rather protracted I imagine, unless Kasper tells the owners that he just wants out.

Anyone seen this bloke in the flesh or are we just assuming he's decent? The Jak came with a steller pedigree and Spurs interest lest we forget....

I've said it before but McGregor is by far the best value of what is currently available out there at the moment:

Bolat: Dodgy Eastern Med "acrobat", punch-rather-than-catch goalie.
    Schmeichel: Overpriced.
    Schwarzer: Over-old.
Mannone: Not leaving Arsenal (why? God only knows!)
    Given: Going to Celtic.

The only thing wrong with McGregor is that he is a goalkeeper and he is Scottish.

All this could be smoke and mirrors, show to other clubs we can pay but won't be hold to ransom ready to move for our top targets a little deeper into the break once holidays are finished. If Leicester/Septic accept one of our 'low' bids and we get Kasper or Gary for decent value then it's a Brucey bonus.

in today's sun in a small article on the transfers page about our rejected Hooper bid it categorically says that Bruce has been successful in securing McGregor for £1.5mill.

@RobTannerMerc: Good news for LCFC. Sources say Kasper is going nowhere. Would take a ridiculous bid to change City's minds. More in tomorrow's Merc #LCFC

As we said either meet the asking price or we wont sell. We was never going to sell him on the cheap

As the saying goes. Go big or go home

Good news all round if true, I dont know anyone who has him as first choice new keeper. And dont say it's sour grapes, this board largely has said that all along.

Know wonder Lestra is in a financial mess, if they are hanging out for more than 2 million for him, then they are going to be stuck with him and lose him for nothing in the end. I don't know who pulls the strings there, but it is starting to smell like the Thai owners, who clearly have little idea about football matters.

It's not as if there is 1 week to the start of the season, we've got plenty of time to sign whoever - it shows we aren't being held to ransom fee wise. and sorry Kaspar but if you wanted PL football you might just have to wait a few more seasons (if at all), but that's yours and your agent's choice at the end of the day. WE DON@T TECHNICALLY NEED ANY GIVEN (no pun there) NAMED PLAYER - it is a free market for Steve and Papa to select from

Apart from the fact the money you would have had for Schmeichel you now don't have to spend on players or are you of the same mind(LOL) as Proud_Fox that you will somehow drift casually above all the new regulations for FFP???
