What with Ancelotti going to Madrid to replace the Messiah PSG are sweet on The Tea-Boy AVB To replace him. I wonder how the Spuds will cope with being known as a selling club having sold the clubs silver in Berbatov & Modric Now Bale & Tea-Boy to follow? I can see an exodus of Spuds fans erasing Aurasma off the white shirts and having FX PRO sewn on. What would you do if Roman started running Chelsea as a selling club come knocking shop? Sensible comments please
Rumour is AVB has a buy out clause, no idea why clubs do that for managers. I've no doubt that if PSG had gone in for him next season he'd go, but he may feel he owes Spurs given they picked him up when he was down and he took them out of the top 4. A lot hinges on Bale IMO. I think AVB will stay and try and build something at Spurs but if Bale were to be sold, he then has his excuse to leave lined up and ready.
I think AVB will stay at the spuds next season to try and qualify for CL not sure if he would go to PSG just for money he want s to prove himself as a top class manager PSG would allow him to buy a formidable team but the french league is not the most testing
If Bale was going he would be sold by now,as for AVB,i don't think he is a merecenry, and think he will still be at Spurs next season
I don't buy into this idea of being a mercenary. Chelsea was a big opportunity for him with big money, just as PSG is now. Doesn't make him a mercenary if he leaves.
I agree with DL on this,we all work for as much money as we can screw and if that means being a journeyman well so be it.
not true at all, if you manage projects and keep jumping ship before any of em ever finish you will find it hard getting jobs before long. Even Jose who moves a lot gives 2- 3 years to each one
You have to admit there's lots of speculation and he's probably got something but I was more in agreement with his 'Selling club' title, spot on I'd say!
I don't usually respond to these threads as they are normally to get bites but as rob says serious posts only here goes We are a selling club...most teams are to be honest I think that only chelsea; city and united in England could be described as clubs that do not have to sell...I guess arsenal could fall into this category as they seem to choose to sell while claiming they are loaded Our biggest loss has been the £15m wasted on Bentley but that aside we rarely sell a player for less than we pay and rarely buy a player with no sell on value. Our biggest transfer is £16m and our biggest sales are £30m plus Chelsea record buys Fernando Torres 51.4m Andriy Shevchenko 40.5m Eden Hazard 35.2m Michael Essien 33.5m Didier Drogba 32.5m Oscar 28.1m Shaun Wright-Phillips 27.7m David Luiz 26.4m Ricardo Carvalho 26.4m Juan Mata 23.5m Damien Duff 23.3m Hernán Crespo 22.9m John Obi Mikel 20.8m Juan Sebastián Verón 19.8m Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink 19.8m Ramires 19.4m Romelu Lukaku 19.4m Yuri Zhirkov 19m José Bosingwa 18.m Claude Makélélé 17.6m Paulo Ferreira 17.6m Nicolas Anelka 17.5m Florent Malouda 16.7m Adrian Mutu 16.7m That makes at least 24 players that cost more than our record buy...I ain't sure you made your money back on any of them let alone made a profit. I ain't criticising...Chelsea can afford it and have the right to spend their money as they wish but not many other clubs can afford to do the same so they have to buy as low as possible and sell as high as possible. so we do have a for sale price on all our players and even our manager...its either that or risk becoming a pompey or leeds or wednesday or coventry or southampton etc. Surely Chelsea fans should realise this...if Roman hadn't bought chelsea you faced a bleak future financially. Like I said I ain't complaining...i just think this is the way of things
Got them from here ... http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/chelsea-fc/transferrekorde/verein_631.html I know you have to take them with a pinch of salt so kept to over £16.5m...like I said not criticising...and definitely not jealous
Putting up a list of Chelsea buys that are wholly wrong does not alter the fact that Spuds are a selling club and now there's a possibility that the tea boy and bale could soon swell the wallet of the poison dwarf Levy.
I think AVB and Bale are absolutely top notch. Don't like the "tea boy" nickname much, AVB has done little wrong in my book except to take our gutless Board at their word. He did a grand job with the Spuds, a team well below us in talent, and he ran us and the gooners a good race. Bale could walk into ANY team he wants to, Barca, Real, Man U, or us. AVB is on the list for a mighty good job. I wouldn't blame either of them if they left, but suspect each is interlinked with the other in terms of what they will do. Wish I was in the same position, and bloody good luck to them, whatever they do.
