Uruguay are playing France in a warm-up game tonight. Lovely pass from Gastón in the build-up to Uruguay's goal against France:
Jeez, completely forgot about this. This would have been the summer of our epic escape from relegation when we had Nigel Pearson at the helm. I remember Saganowski did nothing all season then popped up with a goal in the final match against Sheffield Utd to help keep us up!
Tahiti beat New Caledonia 4-3 in the group stages too. I noticed Tahiti had 4 players in their team with the same surname. They beat Samoa 10-1 with 9 goals scored by players with the surname Tehau. 3 of them are brothers and one is a cousin. They are all in the squad for the tournament. By the looks of it though Tahiti were beaten last night 7-0 by Chile's under 20s so it will be interesting to see what happens to them when they play Spain, Uruguay and Nigeria!
