Will be a good move for him. Injury ruined his Saints career at such a pivotal time.
Yes, that and lack of ability! He reminded me of a pinball machine at times.

Lambert probably would be better in cm than jwp. Ward Prowse would be the last person I would pick to play against a team sitting deep. His biggest weakness is creativity which you would need to break down a team sitting deep.Your attitude is shocking on the other hand. You would actually play Lambert in CM about JWP? He is only 18. He will be an integral part of the team. He does a job slightly more offensive minded than Corky - if he doesn't go out on loan, then I welcome James playing some games against teams who will drop deep, we need players with his composure and vision to unlock defenses, we missed a player like this last season, Prowsey could well be that player.

Cork is a much better player and at 23 has enough development in him to keep ward prowse out of the team for at least a few seasons imo by which time both will probably be struggling to make the starting line up.
Saints are not great users of the loaning out system, apart from when a player is already on his way out of Saints. I think that when a player is considered a real prospect...they prefer that he doesn't go elsewhere and learn bad habits.
It would be nice if he could go to a good champ team for half a season where they play proper football and he is virtually guaranteed game time. But finding a club that meets this criteria is tough. He would certainly get time on the pitch in L1, but would you want him battling with a bunch of thugs week in week out? Mind you, didn't do Schneid any harm! Perhaps reading, adkins can bring him on then he can return in the later stages of next season when we may have injury worries.
In short, I like him. Especially for his attitude. I think its far too early to say he won't be a fantastic player and if I had to put money on it I'd say he will!
UPDATE ON ASTORI: Southampton forward, AC Milan backwards
Due to leave Cagliari on a full basis, Italian international centre-back Davide Astori (26), according to latest rumours collected in exclusive by TMW, is being more and more approached by Southampton management, due to Saints' head coach Mauricio Pochettino's will. Meanwhile, AC Milan trainer Massimiliano Allegri seems to be looking away from the market target. Astori is still tracked by Napoli, AS Roma, Rubin Kazan and Spartak Moscow as well.
Apart from Punch which was punishment I can't think of any players we have loaned out and who have come back to stake a regular first team spot? Anyone?
