I would not have a problem selling Ramirez. He doesn't even warrant a place in the starting lineup next season on merit and we haven't even signed anyone yet.

It's comments like this that make me wonder how much some of our 'fans' actually know about football.

I am right whether you like it or not. Our best line up is Rodriguez-Davis-Puncheon behind Lambert.

We scored less goals per minute with Ramirez on the pitch than Lambert, Puncheon, Lallana, Davis and Rodriguez.

Hmm..
That's pretty harsh; it's a valid opinion and I think one could make a pretty good argument for it. You can't just try to invalidate people whose opinions you disagree with like that.
Every player has his price, and it's true that Ramirez often wasn't good enough to merit a starting place next season. If he was sold I assume we'd be in a position to bring in someone else of a similar pedigree, and perhaps someone who would fit the system better. None of us know what sorts of players are or could be available should that situation arise. Poch and Cortese might already have identified an even better AMC for all we know.
That's not to say that Ramirez couldn't be great for us next season, as he very well could, but he's probably not the only one who could. Also the rumoured price tags are pretty good.
Joe, he said sell him because he doesn't merit a place; that's crap. If that's the way it is we should only have 11 players. He has delivered an ignorant post and followed it up with "I'm right". People like this piss me off and need to show some intelligent discussion.
At the start of the season I said Ramirez had been average and wouldn't come good. He didn't. I'm right that he doesn't deserve to be in the team on merit. How anyone could say otherwise is laughable.

Technically, he didn't say we should sell him because he doesn't merit a place; he's just saying he wouldn't have a problem if he went because he hasn't yet merited a starting place. No one is stupid enough to suggest that all but the best 11 should be sold, but if a good offer comes in for a squad player then selling could be the right move. Gaining around £20m and not losing any of your key players could be seen as a pretty good move, especially if that money helps you bring in another key player.
His comments after that were pretty stupid though, yes.
