Agreed, according to the official revised grid though, they start 10th and 11th rather than what should be 11th and 12th. It is stupid though, something at most worthy of a reprimand.

At the end of the day they gained an advantage over Button, Vettel and Webber by queueing where they did, and they know the rules in regard to which side of the white line they're supposed to be on, they saw they were late out and broke the rules so they wouldn't suffer, worthy of a penalty tbh, (that's not to say I wouldn't have done the same in their position)

Chance of showers at 14:00 local time

    Would make things interesting.

Hopefully it rains and Bottas can win.

    Forecast looks good:
    http://www.foreca.com/Canada/Quebec/Montreal?details=20130609

    Race is 2pm local time.

Other than the rain, the main thing that worries me is that by the time Alonso clears the traffic (Bottas and Mercedes drivers), Vettel will be way too far in front. Vettel's average laptime on his high fuel stint on Friday was 1.18.6, a huge advantage compared to Hamilton (1:20.4), Rosberg (1:20.8) and Bottas (1:21.2). IntelligentF1 predicts the pace to be: Alonso +0.0, Vettel +0.3, +1.3 Rosberg, +1.4 Hamilton, +2.5 Bottas.

No rain, easy overtaking, maybe even a safety PLEASE !! FORZA FERRARI!!!

Surely a Safety Car is inevitable? Also, all Alonso really needs to do is save his tyres and pit twice compared to the others three times and he's pretty much guaranteed 2nd. If it rains anything can happen though...

anyone have speedtrap data for yesterday? I'm curious if Williams have gone with a wet setup, or if Bottas was just possessed by a driving god.

Different weather though, temp difference of about 5-6+c. And Seb was saying he was struggling with the cold temps all week, so this "hotter" weather might play into his hands more.

Right, now Silver's got the data, i'm thinking that there isn't a wet setup, and it was just a genuinely brilliant lap.

Loads of conflicting weather forecasts on sites hope it rains as it will give Bottas a chance of scoring points.

Higher temps are even better for Ferrari. No tyre warming problems!

By the way have you guys seen Hamilton's Canadian GP record?

    2007: Win
    2008: DNF
    2010: Win
    2011: DNF
    2012: Win
    2013: ....

Why is he good in North America? Both Canada and the US are races he normally wins.

Funny enough I had a dream on Friday that Vettel and a Mercedes crashed into each other.

Chance of rain decreasing apparently, and it's warming up. Great news for those who dislike Mercedes (or one of their drivers).

You think that's impressive? Check out his 12th race results.

    2009: Belgium DNF
    2010: Hungary DNF
    2011: Belgium DNF
    2012: Belgium DNF

Monaco wasn't that cold yet we saw the Ferrari's struggle there at about 24-25c. I see Ferrari's best range at 28-30c

Is Sutil the dark horse for a podium? he seems fairly quick this weekend, as does the FI which is fairly good on it's tyres, he's been fairly unlucky so far this season with people driving into him about time he got some luck go his way

Anyone else think Lotus will fall away this season as it goes by? Starting to lose faith to be honest. Hopefully Kimi makes a move for next season.

Anyone know what the deal is with the start time? Have they moved it back to make in more friendly for people in North America? Maybe to drum up a bit more interest for Austin.

I think Lotus and Ferrari will be more competitive once we're back on proper tracks if the weather is kind to them. I'm not sure how much Lotus can develop with their budget though, they really do need a title sponsor.

I wouldn't have thought so... Austin was a sellout if I remember rightly. Not sure why they moved it.
